Mark Hughes. Mark Hughes? Mark Hughes!?

At least another six months of terrible football at the Brit then.

Loved the guy with his pick-up and a sign saying HUGHES OUT protesting yesterday before the announcement.

As for England, an ordinary team of jaded players in a meaningless end of season friendly.

How does Rooney keep being allowed to play for England. He's a master at losing possession.

Perhaps it's his stellar performances at major championships for the national team?

before the Ireland match he had scored 6 in the last 5 England matches, you bellend.

 disciple doesn't let facts get in the way of a chance to mention anything related to his beloved Manchester united.

I see you're including 3 goals against San Marino. Nice.

I guess what you're saying is I'm wrong and that he performs really well in international tournaments.

Yeah, although he was an unknown quantity on the international stage at the time just for Euro 2004 alone he's probably worth regarding as one of England's better recent(-ish) players as far as tournaments go.

Suarez wants out then, will kill his price no doubt and maybe keep Bale at Spurs oddly.

Real will get a bargain by the sounds of it, I guess the press will be easier on him there but I can't say I will miss him from the premier league - as good a player he his its the histrionics and behaviour that have 'forced' his exit - even on the way out he is being a dick!

Is that official then? All I heard was he'd said he'd like to go to Madrid, in an interview back home. Footballers seem to spout all manner of shit in those things! Cue mistranslation/misquote claims any day now.

Suarez is somehow even more of a bellend that we thought previously, then. If Real Madrid want him then he should STFU and let them make an offer, especially after the misplaced faith Liverpool have shown in him.

I think you might find agreeing a contract while still under contract with a club is a big no no, so the idea a deal was done weeks ago without Liverpools knowledge is a load of old shit. Badly translated as usual and blown out of proportion by the media!

I've even read that the £40mil buy out clause is bollocks as well. Seriously, you guys believe this shit?

Another badly translated article, as I said. How many times has Tevez said he wants to leave City while chatting in Argentina? He's still there and has been for years.

When Liverpool FC state he is leaving, then Ill believe it, until then it's bullshit.

Liverpool have issued a pretty firm rebuttal.

Obviously if Suarez has been talking to Real Madrid he can't admit as much publicly, but some of the comments he's made in the last few days are pretty shitty.

The story has suddenly become 'true' because of stuff he said in a press conference yesterday.

Something along the lines of it's not the money, if it was about money he would have already left.

The main reason is his family & his image. Being hounded by the press etc.

He knows he has a contract and if he stays he will of course do his best but he needs to go to end the "bullying" which has been dished out by the press.

101GG just put up a recording of the press conference from SSN:

Sounds like Liverpool don't want to sell him though. Welcome to a long summer of speculation and bollocks Liverpool fans, don't worry guys Spurs fans have been here since January & we've got the beer and nachos already ;)

*cracks open a beer and stuffs nachos in gob*

If* he does go, just want the whole thing sorted as quickly as possible so the club can go about sourcing replacements and getting ready for pre-season. Because, gosh darnit, we need a smooth pre-season to ready ourselves for a good crack at the Tallest Pygmy on Merseyside Cup.

*when. I know it's when but let's allow some denial to fester for a day or two longer.

Caroll is injured and i'm sure 40m would buy him back for Liverpool ;)

What's always annoying is the clubs come out with this 'he's not for sale' knowing full well the players hold all the power and if he wants to go he will, the club are just saying that to keep the price high so are as much to blame as the turned player. Spurs have done this a few times and it always kills the start of our season, even when Levy kept Modric at the club the season was impacted at the start and he ended up not getting any more (less if the Chelsea rumours were true, mind better holding onto him than letting him goto Chelsea) but made his point i guess.

As you say when a player s linked to Barca or Real its seems its a when and how much situation, i guess if Liverpool take them to the cleaners then that is good for football all round as Suarez goes and the most corrupt league gets him while Liverpool make some money!

I actually wonder if the third question is 'who?' with Suarez as well. My take on this is that the Suarez camp took note of what Bale's agent said and realised only one of them can go to Madrid this summer and so are stepping up their campaign for a move. Obviously I hope he does go and Bale stays for another season.
