Xbox One Console Thread

I replaced the  thermal  paste on my oneX today.

It isn't  difficult, nor is it expensive and it's  been very  successful.

I recommend to all who think their one x should be quieter.

Nice. Very tempted to do this across both my Xbox and PS4.

I had misgivings about doing it 6 months before the successor is due (worried that I'd break it and have to consider buying a replacement to use  for 6 months) but I watched a YouTube video a couple of times on the subject beforehand and it all went well.  No screws left over!

At least with two I can do one and if I kill it stop and just play the other one :D

Strangely, the *only* time my launch model One really winds itself up is when I load up an X360 digital BC game.

Does anyone know if this is expected behaviour or not with all models?

I've got One X and when I play BC games,  my wife asks if the Xbox is okay or not based on the much louder noise it makes compared to when playing standard Bone games.

Whilst on a boring Skype call earlier I was fiddling about with an old One controller I keep in the office as a spare when I noticed this random little message in the battery compartment

Never noticed that before and I have plenty of controllers. Perhaps not included in newer ones?

It's on the bottom of the console too...

One X packs were £260 about a week ago weren’t they?!

Those cyberpunk ones were,  maybe that's why there was a big fuss. Perhaps they someone forgot to adjust them to pandemic pricing.

He would doubtlessly recommend the cheapest series x too. :coffee:

why would anyone buy a series X when it’s the same games, with shinier shinies?

that’s the most expensive way to play Xbox one games, isn’t it? :eyebrows:

Why do people upgrade their PC's?

to keep up with consoles, and to add more storage and ram because of bloatware/ operating systems?

Because game creators are lazy and always work for the highest theoretical spec and then scale back?

because triggers broom?

I'm totally going to buy one, but thats OT, the reason for this exchange is that you had called someone out for suggesting an expensive console coming later this year, saying it was unsuitable suggestion, based on cost. This is after you'd suggested the most expensive hardware currently available. :sherlock:
