If you’re bang into Harry Secombe, James Last and Mantovani, you’re in for a treat.

I refer to it as landfill. It'll never shift and is only good for one place.

If you can find something decent in a charity shop, congratulations - you got there before one of the normal local dealers that comes in and flushes them out of the good stuff!

I found hundreds of dancehall and ragga jungle 12"s in the Shelter near Turnpike Lane once. They didn't take card and by the time I had come back with cash they were all gone, almost certainly to whoever it is that fly posts the records wanted notes all over North London's lampposts. Left the opera box sets though didn't they.

Juno’s latest bunch of new disco 12s look to be priced a little rich for my blood...anyone else?!

Same here. Got three emails from them, two normal and one where everything is £1000+

Talking of expensive things; I was a bit late to the Waxahatchee party last year and missed out on getting any version of Saint Cloud, sold out everywhere.

I wanted a copy as it's my album of the year so have kept an eye out for restocks. Thought I'd give eBay a try to see if anyone was shifting one and managed to get swept up in the excitement of finding the Bandbox release on there for a 'fair' price a couple of days ago. There were no other versions on there at all.

Ended up negotiating with the seller for £50 delivered. Most I've ever paid for a single album.

Cheapest on discogs is £45 plus £20 shipping!! Only today did I think to check if Bandbox still have any. They do, of course, and only $36 (add on shipping, and import I guess though).

Let's agree not to tell my wife what I paid, ok!

I'm waiting for Saint Cloud as well. I was under the assumption that it would be reprinted again as it's a popular new album? The normal version I mean. Not sure what happened here, even if they underestimated the demand hugely it should still have been back in stock months ago.

@Sane, I've no reason to think it won't get a re-press but I've also got no information about when it will happen.

The master release on discogs shows all variants as being US so maybe there just wasn't enough getting sent over to Europe to keep up with demand?

Plus, I do love a coloured limited edition vinyl so I just went for it.

*spits out coffee*

I'm sure I checked the price of this record a while ago as I was going to get rid of it and it was worth nothing but I thought I'd hang onto it because of the Banksy artwork. Looking across Discogs it seems people are charging silly money for any records with Banksy designed sleeves.

Anyone here use Discogs to keep track of their collection and is also a web developer?

The collection feature has a "Random" link - it displays a random entry from your collection, which I find really handy when I can't make my mind up what to play.

I can't suss how it works. Its not as straightforward as creating a shortcut to the Random link.

Ultimately I'd like to be able to just click on a shortcut and keep refreshing it so it brings up a new one each time. The way it works currently is you click Random, and then to choose another one you have to click Back and click Random again.

Cheers

Partner bought Lemonade on double vinyl. It is *lush*. Accompanying booklet has some stunning photography, too. Even the inside of the gatefold sleeves are printed yellow.

That looks lovely. This is a massive part of why I love vinyl. When done well they are so much more than music.

I haven't got anything quite as 'complete' as that but I'll have a think what is my most 'impressive'.

What's everyone else got? A discogs link should be enough if you can't be bothered taking photos.

We've got that. What an album too. Almost as good as Janelle Monae ;)

In the long run it probably doesn't matter at all as I'll keep it forever, but what do people do with any special stickers that are on the cellophane on their vinyl?

Waxahatchee came with the BandBox ltd edition info on the wrap.

I never keep the cellophane on as it makes sliding them into shelves a pain IMO. If I cut the sticker off and put it in the sleeve it'll get squashed.

You mean you don't cut the cellophane carefully to get the record out but leave it on?

Must just be me then!

I know people that do this but it's just a mess. What would you do with a gatefold, never open it up?

It depends on the release, obviously a gatefold needs the wrapping removing.

I just had a look and a couple of my 12" singles which are 30 years old are still in the shrinkwrap! The records are well played though.

Obviously you should remove the wrap completely. I'm the one with the problem here, not you :D

Always keep them in the cellophane, with stickers attached. That’s history.

Especially good if they are price stickers.
