I listened to it the other day and thought it was completely ace. You can definitely tell who's choices are who's! So much Kay Gees too which is good with me.

I was also enjoying this too. In some way the archetypal Avalanches tune. A melancholic harmony of disparate samples played out like a house track. On some days it might be my favourite thing they've done.

Likewise. It's just wonderful.

I think it was a B side on the Since I Left You (single) CD. It's an unusual track for them from that period, and maybe a bit closer to the Wildflower sessions as there's a lot of live instrumentation and Darren on the vocals.

Yeah, it's a weird midway point between SILY and Wildflower but preceding both. Always feels current too.

Oi oi, the new singles are great. The visuals that Jonathan Zawanda is putting together for this stuff are fantastic too.

Both excellent and, refreshingly, different.

Also is that Terence Trent D’arby?

Is it? That'd make sense.

I also an wondering if the main bassline from Relfecting Light is a modified Seven Seconds from Cherry, which'd be cool.

Does this keep getting delayed or it was always meant to be the end of the year? It seems they've released so many tracks from it there can't be that much left unless its long

11th Dec, 25 tracks, 7 released so far - 1hr 11 mins long.

E: only 18 tracks in (jesus) but it’s hitting this dreamy chilled vibe that’s absolutely lovely. Wildflower was nice but sometimes felt like it was all over the shop, whilst this is more consistent. A few of the tracks come and go pretty quickly but others are a decent length and fun to listen to. :)

So I gave it the headphone treatment last night then again on a nice coastal run this morning and it’s a lovely record, I didn’t dislike Wildflower but this new record is almost like it no longer exists. Also the mixing, editing and general overall production is beautiful. It’s got a real soulful vibe that’s just completely bathed in celestial light, I love it.

Wow, this is so emotionally engaging right from the off. It's warm and beautiful and with its themes conjures up all kinds of memories and feelings I've not had since being a lovesick adolescent, without in the least bit feeling sentimental or cheaply nostalgic. It's surprised me as I couldn't get into Wildflower, and while I could appreciate the technical artistry of Since I Left You, I never connected to it on an emotional level.
