Set this up yesterday with a wheel (G29) and VR.  What a faff.  Trying to assign the most used button to the wheel so I don’t have to keep taking headset off to use the keyboard.  What’s the most used functions I need to assign?  I assume I don’t need every single function.  Also I cannot work out how to reverse as is keeps stalling.  Is everything got a h shifter so I’ve got h shifter mode and range shifting setup.

Tried this in VR a while back, but the aliasing was ghastly and there doesn't seem to be a way of dialing it out.  It was too distracting to the point of unplayable for me, unfortunately.

I never got to grips with the important button mappings, but I did have to settle for auto gears.  But I think that's more to do with me not understanding how gearing on trucks works.

Indicators, Headlights, high beam, cruise control set / cancel, sat nav screen cycle, sat nav zoom - these are the one you'll want to use when the truck is in motion.

seemed ok for me. I tried it a while back and it’s seems more clearer than what I remembered, maybe updates have improved things since.  Maybe give it another try especially if you have better specs now.

It was only a few weeks ago.  It seems to be an issue with the game engine, as it doesn't have anti-aliasing in VR.

Then again, I'm super sensitive to jaggies and shimmering.  To the point where I disagree with my sim racing mates about Automobilista 2 looking great in VR as that has a similar problem.  I wish it wasn't something that bothered me so much.

It's a very shimmery and aliased game, I think it's using a very old direct version. You have to use an internal resolution of at least about 3 times the output resolution tlto get rid of it really.

Thankfully it's an old game so you don't need that powerful a system to do that for a regular screen, but that's probably a big ask with VR requirements.

Yeah, it looks decent in pancake mode when using super sampling like that.  But the frame rate tanks in VR when you do that.

Then again, I've upgraded from a 3080 to a 4090 since then so it might be worth another try.

Had a nice session on this today.  Only did a couple of runs.  Just listening to LBC while driving was quite relaxing except when I get a speed fine or get myself in a tizzy being in the wrong gear on a corner or hill, however I had gotten more smoother with the gear changes as time went on.

It’s so satisfying in VR and a wheel.  I always go for the hardest parking delivery option.  Being able to look out of the window whilst reversing is a game changer and was a bit of a wow moment when I wasn’t expecting to be able to do that.  Looking forward to more jobs and expanding my truck delivery business.
