Only had a few games of this. I was proud of my only remaining crew-member keeping the ship going in the face of some stiff opposition. It was hard work but when the enemy ship was destroyed it felt so good, but I knew it wouldn't last.

I get to the end, wing the boss and then just get wiped out on the next round when he sends over lots of drones. Need to take a break from it!

I wasn't going to play this again tonight. Just one quick go after work, before turning to more productive things. Then I unlocked the Zoltan Cruiser.

Got to the last sector today.

Was doing fairly well, my Kestrel had two burst lasers, a "hull laser", a teleporting bomb thing, max shields, and a fully upgraded cloak. Hammered the flagship's shields, handled the first two rounds with relative ease. Thought I was on to a winner until the third round, when 8 enemy crew members teleported aboard, and wrecked my shit up. None of my mostly-human crew had much hand-to-hand experience so were pretty useless against the invaders. Sad face. Still love this game though.

OK, this may sound like sour grapes but I think the flagship cheats on the second round. It attacks you with drones, so I thought I'll take out Drone Control. Drone Control was damaged to red, which on my ship means my drones are dead in the water. But no, the flagship's drones carried on attacking.

Managed to complete this on normal yesterday with a pimped up Engi cruiser but...

I'm pretty sure I didn't get 8 people/droids or whatever boarding my ship in the third phase. There was one or two of those boarding drones but maybe some of them 'missed' and flew past my ship? I think at worst there were 2 of them on board at any one time. Does the defense drone shoot them down?

That mothership's a bit of a beast though!

Think I had a very lucky run, but ended up with 4 burst/heavy lasers mk II/III, cloaking, cloaked weapons fire and the Instant-Fire Post FTL.

Everytime I engaged the Mothership it's Shields were destroyed on my opening barrage

God it can be so frikkin infuriating yet so awesome at the same time! Managed to get to the last sector, had a souped up ship with droids and 40 units of fuel left to spare. Was feeling pretty cocky thinking this was it... 2 battles later and I'm blown to shit!

I cheekily yarred this to demo it and paid up quickly after. I only have 2 ships with the Engi, it looks like you get others from random quests? Will you know about it once you start a quest line?

I took a quest that seemed to have more than one quest marker on the map and after I cleared it was told I had some new blueprints. Next game....I had a new ship in the dock waiting for me. It really is something special isn't it. I've already spent 7 hours on it this week in 20 minute bursts.

Beat it on Normal last night for the first time with the Federation Cruiser.

The good ship Atlas took only one casualty, in Sector 7 - the Mantis Friedrich Hayek died while beaming out of a ship, as I forgot to disable a burst laser shot on the room he was in until it was too late and the laser caught him mid-teleport. A sad loss.

Has anyone managed to successfully complete one of the events where,

There is a colony on a moon or planet and their own defence systems are going nuts. The game gives an option of trying to take down the rogue defences or fly off.

I've tried on three separate occasions and my hull has took a beating each time. Is this always a booby trap?

The music is excellent.

Have an Engi or an Ion weapon and that event's a piece of piss.

All these events have blue options that you can take for auto-success.
