The Rllmuk Metal Thread Part 2

Most gigs I go to don't sell out :) when I've gone to something with my dad (Neil Young etc) there is always people touting outside. It depends on how much of a faff it would be to get down there and potentially not get in. If you can wait until close to doors opening you can usually get face value.

Come to think of it, how do touts get round the fact that most gigs don't send you tickets anymore?

I've not been to a gig in ages. Had loads lined up but never felt able to go. The two I really fancied was napalm death, obituary and carcass in Manchester and melvins with big business are both on when I'm on holiday :(

What do we think of the new Trivium then? While a bit straightforward with some of the tracks I find that, for me, it's an excellent palate cleanser. Just good ol' Metal courtesy of Trivium. It could've done with some more Corey vocals but hey what can you do...

In any case it's already head and shoulders above Vengeance Falls.

'With fear I kiss the burning darkness' and 'the red in the sky' are perfect ethereal death doom metal. Absolutely their own sound.

Then they invented another with 'Slaughter of the soul'. I think the earlier ones are better. Spooky and catchy and heavy.

Dam_aks have you listened to the new FFAA at all?

That last part of Swing the Axe... my god. :omg:

I got the album on Friday but HOAC has taken all my listening. What I have heard of it (one play through) I enjoyed though.

I also got the Tesseract live album. Sounds like it was recorded in a bunker.

Paradise Lost played an absolute blinder last night at Koko. I only fell over in the pit once 8)

Probably mentioned it before. I saw them a few years ago supporting Type O and they were amazing! Polished to perfection and a massive sound live. I'd definitely go and see them again although I'm not hugely keen on the new album.

Yeah, they've been great every time I've seen them (3 I think).

I finally sourced tickets for the Opeth London Palladium gig from a nice lady in Germany who was going to go to the German gig recently announced instead.

So she posted me the tickets, and then they decided that they needed to change the venue to Drury Lane Theatre Royal. So now I have to sort out the replacement tickets getting to me.

Bloody saga!

I don't think anything can top lyrical awfulness on the 'Murder In The First' track with that line "Tell the Devil I fucking quit, he can have this world, it's a piece of shit". Dreadful, but musically I fucking love the new FFAA.

That bit made me LOL on the train home yesterday.

You two simply aren't angsty and depressed enough to deal with such deep lyrics. :coffee:

I don't mind angsty lyrics, but Vincent from the Acacia Strain does bleak and depressing so much better. Again though, there are some great tracks on the new FFAA album.

Friday was a good day for music, I think I ended up new albums by; For Today, FFAA, Clutch and Heart of a Coward. Still need to pick up the Outside the Coma (Mikey from Sikth) album.
