Maaaan this is good.

"Crater" from 'A Dream In Static', the cinematic debut album from Earthside, due out October 23rd.

Track featuring Björn Strid (Soilwork)

Track produced and engineered by David Castillo (Opeth, Katatonia, Bloodbath) in Stockholm Sweden. Mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, The Ocean, Devin Townsend).

One for VN1X, this is DL's new band, who used to play guitar for the Acacia Strain.

Album dropped today. Some lyrical awfulness.

I appreciate you thinking of me but even I have my limits. :P

Plus the production in combination with the chuggachug didn't do much for me.

Seen the new Protest the Hero thing? It's basically a $12 subscription and they release a song a month for six months - plus a bunch of other bits and bobs.

While interesting... my initial feeling is that I don't care for it. I don't listen to single songs. So I'll just wait until all six are out and buy it then... Maybe.

I've taken one for the team on this, the album... isn't that bad - how's the new BOO?

It's alright. I think one of my main problems with BoO now is that all their songs seem to have the same rhythm/tempo? And when you're in the chugcore genre that starts to become a bit grating.

I'm not that well versed in music theory (string theory if you will kekeke) so I could be totally wrong of course but that seems to be their 'thing' now.

Never once been drunk at a show or festival. I'm there for the music yo.

I went to see Devin Townsend play in a church the other week. You could only drink water... It was... Interesting.

My girlfriends words summed it up "If I knew I couldn't have a fucking beer I wouldn't have come".

In the end we had a nice time and had had a few beers (and Japanese food) before hand so it could have been worse.

The new John Browne (Monuments, Fellsilent, played on tour with Periphery etc etc) album that came out on Monday is worth a listen. It has some sort of concept around it but frankly that is hard to get across on an instrumental record.

More importantly it has some killer riffs, I need to digest it more... but he is a fine guitar player. And it features plenty of 6 string guitars, which some of you may prefer. It's still very modern mind.
