Transient Curse

I saw Sikth for the first time in 2004 at the local market town theatre.

Love both their early albums, the early EP's a mate of mine at uni had were also brilliant. Saw them live a few times before they split. Glad their back.

Considering I was obsessed with metalcore back then, they are one of the few bands I still listen to from that era. Mainly because the sound like nothing else...

I missed The Body & Krieg collab album that was released a month or so ago.

It's an absolute blinder.

And sunn's new record is a proper return to form after some less interesting collaborative efforts (I'm mostly looking at you Scott Walker). More of an EP than an LP unfortunately but, hey, no fat...

I know it's opinions and all that but... Hats off to Sunn O))) for the collaborations, long may they continue. It'd be very easy for them to do the same record over and over again to appease a section of their audience and they'd not be as interesting for it (see the countless groups that ripped off Sunn O))) - Asva, Nadja etc). I also agree that Kannon is very good indeed.

I totally agree.

I've enjoyed all of the collaborations, bar the Scott Walker one as his voice irritates me to distraction, and love how they are able to bend and push their art in conjunction with said collaborators but, that said, it's absolutely fantastic to see them stripped back to their blackened core again..
