I went to see Suicdal Tendencies in Dublin tonight. They were excellent and the crowd was well up for it. A real "bucket list" band for me. I hope I'm still cyco after all these years as Mike Muir when I reach his age.  "Pledge Your Allegiance" was a highlight for me, as well as the soloing in "How Can I Laugh Tomorrow...".

Well jel.  I love Suicidal.

@Kingpin which classics did they play?  Anything from Lights...Camera...Revolution or The Art of Rebellion?

Weirdly, only 2 songs from LCR (Bring Me Down & Send Me Your Money) and nothing from AoR. Set was heavy on s/t and How can I laugh... material. Interesting to note that the songs from the Tony Hawk soundtrack (from Freedumb) are in their set.

"Christian themed"?  I think you're hanging on to a misunderstanding from the days when he was in Creed. Back in those days they had a Doors like spiritual side of things but Scott Stapp turned out to not only be a complete ass but anything but "Christian" (drugs, Alcohol paranoia, blow job sex tapes with Kid Rock)

On the other hand Myle Kennedy in Alter Bridge doesn't belive in religion but you could still read that into the lyrics if you had that in mind like 90% of lyrics in general.

I think Marks lyrics are more open to interpretation but at the heart of it he is a tune writer who just writes lyrics that fit what he wants to do musically.

He is the best musician around right now. He's my lifeboat in music now that MetallicA are no longer productive or consistent in there quality.

Oh I'm not saying that as a bad thing though. A lot of my favourite bands are Christian and/or have very pro-faith (anti-religion) lyrics. Not a bad thing at all when it's done with a bit of nuance and openness.

Unless they start going "God is good, Jesus is the best, give us a highfive!" it's all good hehe.

Best Christian metal band is Extol hands down.

They have a slightly unfortunate habit of saying "God bless you!" after every song, but they're not trying to convert anyone* and the music is fantastic.

* As per their band name, they're simply and quite literally extolling the Christian faith
