Also do we have any Killswitch Engage fans here? Been spinning their new album for the past few days and while extremely samey and unoriginal it is rather enjoyable! At this point I guess they're content by just making the same album over and over again but I suppose that's been working out, for the most part. In other words it's a solid record but nothing you haven't already heard before.

Went to see Mushroomhead last night in Chester. A friend wanted to go and wouldn't go on his own so thought, why not. It was awful. For a band that has been going for as long as they have they only played for an hour too. Chorus' of 'fuck you' might have appealed when I was 14 but now i'm mid 30's and the band themselves are 40's, its just embarrassing.

First support act were trying to bring back nu-metal too, which just fell flat. Shouting at everyone to form a 'pit' when its 8 o'clock and no one can be arsed should also never be done. Terrible.

The second support act were even worse. They actually had a song about kinky sex in Thailand with the chorus 'love you long time' repeated over and over.

My friend had fun though, so thats all that matters.

I'm making him go and see Wojczech, Krupskaya w/Gorehead, PivoRapist and Godhand with me to make amends

I've been getting right back into those Japanese nutters, Sigh of late.  I always really liked their first four albums but then stopped listening to that sort of music for yonks.  Been catching up on YT over the past few weeks and have ordered their six most recent CD's!  I kept their first two albums but for some reason went and sold Infidel Art and Hail Horror Hail and they cost a fortune now.  I'm watching a couple of Japanese eBay auctions for them.

That opening tune on In Somniphobium is mind bogglingly ace!

Proof that everything is better with down tuned guitars.

It's not great but then I guess the source material is also to blame for that.

Isn't it funny how the term Djent has just morphed from nothingness into something that even I could agree is a style, Only for it to end up being used as a term for down tuned guitars playing regular power chords....

weird. Like a Djent Mastodon

Their album from last year (which features the track from that live studio recording) is one of the albums of 2015 IMO.
