Clumpy, it's wired. I've turned it off, rest mode is a waste power for me right now. I don't know when Rocket League was last updated, but every time I power up, it tries to download an update. I cancel it, because I don't play it, but want to keep games current. But it never pulls it down while in rest.

So, sod it.

Just thought I'd post an FYI in case anyone else gets it.  A couple of days ago everyone on party chat sounded like a robot.  Game sound was fine.  I faffed about seeing if I'd set anything in the settings to do this.  Thought eventually it might be a dodgy connection.  Happened again on subsequent plays.  In the end a full proper reboot fixed it (In Power Options ;)).  No idea what it was.

Stu is your internet connection spotty? When I lose connection (ISP end not my end) the PS4 stops whatever is downloading and refuses to acknowledge there is an internet connection until I hit reconnect/restart, even when the internet is back on and every other device reconnects automatically

Been a while since I used the PS4 camera.  I'm doing a bunch of streaming for GameBlast16 in a few weeks, last year we could only get the PS4 camera to show one person as it's so zoomed in.  Have they made a way to zoom it out (the silly games that use it, it zooms way back so we'd all fit) so the three of us can be in shot.

I ordered myself a PS4 yesterday! Just thought I'd share...

Arrived this morning! It's lovely. The controller's great too. Although I had to wait for an hour for it to install, playing GTA V in first person is amazing. Just walking around is incredible - insane levels of detail in everything.

I decided I should probably check out Nom Nom Galaxy, seeing as it's free with Plus and from Pixeljunk. And it turns out it's pretty decent - a mix of Terraria and Spacechem as far as I could make out from the somewhat overwhelming tutorial levels (which are a bit Metroidlike in giving you a whole load of advanced features and then taking them away when the proper campaign starts). I can see it's going to become a bit of a resource-jugglin' headache further down the line, but at the moment it's striking a nice balance of base-building and exploration, and it's all centred around soup, which is nice.  As usual with Pixeljunk it looks, feels and sounds great, and it's all put together very nicely. If I'd known it was from them I'd probably have bought it earlier, so I'm definitely pleased to get a copy via Plus. Terrible indie shovelware name, though, so if that's put you off checking it out so far, I'd recommend giving it a chance.

Yes!  The presence of broth alone has taken it from a won't-bother-downloading to a must play.

Although the Pixel Junk name has also got me interested. I wonder what their thinking was in not using it in the titles anymore.  It was always a mark of a game with a certain something.

Just a quick heads up that Darius Burst has dropped / is on offer at a rather more palatable (than the sky high launch price) of £27.99 on PS4 or £16.99 on Vita.

Oh and I'd say Riptide GP2 is worth £2.89 of anyone's money for a few evenings fun racing.

I've played a few more levels now. It's still holding my interest, but I'm finding time is a bit tight - you get an in-game week to beat the competition, which means games never drag on, but as you unlock more building options and workers it's a bit of a hassle trying to make use of them. I reckon that in a few levels' time it's going to get overwhelming - there's already no time to relax. It's deceptively stressful for such a whimsical design, and that's just the soup management side. When aliens attack (which they always do), it goes up another few notches.

When you beat a level you unlock a sandbox version of it, which works much better. I've also poked around the daily challenges, which are enjoyable - races, combat trials, collection quests and various other types of short burst ranked levels that unlock bonus items for the main game.

So yeah, I still think it's a noble title and worth trying.

Ugh, one of my DS4 analogue sticks has become faulty - right is now down/right..

Got it with the console at launch, but it's had relatively little use.. all my last gen controllers have have easily 10x the hours of use on them and still all work perfectly.. :(

Annoying!

It's also worth trying out The Division's open beta while it's still running. It's probably as close to Destiny as you're going to get, but it's probably still different enough not to overlap too much. It also really benefits from playing with buddies in a party with voice comms. It starts today for the PS4 and I think runs until late Sunday/early Monday. They did extend the closed beta by 24 hours though.

Itll never be on psplus I dont think, its too niche. 28 quid is still a bit of a piss take, no one really wins..the early buyers get screwed and the latecomers are still asked for as good as 30 quid for something you cant sell on. Its 20 quid on vita by the way for anyone wondering, which will run in 720p and control with a ds4 on a pstv.

Im torn..I want it, and it may soon end up 55 quid again, but I dont feel like rewarding the piss taking publisher.
