You aren't the only one memories, this topic is depressing me.

I ordered my PS4 ages ago and somehow decided to take a weekend trip away on launch weekend FFS. Rest assured, I'll be there on Monday afternoon with a stream of FIFA clubs and some Battlefield fun.

Just went down to check on my little fella as he was downloading all the free games overnight. Good first night, no tears and he'd slept well after finishing his downloads. He is now back on speaking terms with PSN and everything loaded up very quickly including Music Unlimited which wasn't on at all last night.Only thing that isn't working is the What's New bit, it doesn't populate at all even with a good number of you lot online. Have I set up the privacy thing wrong or is it just not working yet?

Sony has turned the What's New stuff off until the European launch dramas are over. Guess it would have impacted further on server load.

Is that a change from last night? I was trying on ps3 and it wasn't working either. At least it gave an error message on ps3 though, ps4 just flashed back to screen you were previously on.

Only way I could redeem codes was via playstation network website.

Lying in bed now after about 3 hours sleep and want to go back down and get stuck in again

I forgot to mention I put my codes through Account Management on the PS3. Could be the codes via the Store that's locked out for all.

Had a laugh unpacking the Game mega(expensive) bundle with my lodger.

So far Knack is a welcome surprise. Old school plat former, reminded me a lot of Fable 2. This is a good thing combat wise.

Thanks to this thread I am £625 worse off yet I have a console which is pure delight, apart from the PSN issues. Rejoice!

Waking up on a Saturday, the kids are playing Minecraft on the 360 in the livingroom as they usually do. Switching on my Vita to check up on my downloads and to play a round of Resogun, maybe a bit of Battlefield. It just bloody works.

Yesterday I had the PS4 set up vertically on a flat wooden surface without the stand. In NFS and Resogun I didn't notice any real increase in fan noise, but I found it really ramped up in Killzone, if you'd said it was close to full speed I'd believe you.

So this morning after a bit of reorganisation and finally putting the PS2 away I set it up horizontally. Went to the same spot in Killzone and whilst there was a small increase in fan noise over the other games, it wasn't that great. I even left the game the same spot with trees and fog moving about for 5min and it didn't seem to make much difference, certainly nowhere near the noise it was making yesterday.

No idea how representative this is but certainly I found in some games vertical makes it much louder, guess the stand with its vents might help this but I'll just leave it where it is for the moment.

Has anyone tried DC Universe Online yet? I downloaded it overnight and went through the tutorial this morning. Came to exit the first police station to do the first real mission and it told me I had to wait for the rest of the game to be downloaded. I checked and there's nothing else downloading though

Has anyone tried DC Universe Online yet? I downloaded it overnight and went through the tutorial this morning. Came to exit the first police station to do the first real mission and it told me I had to wait for the rest of the game to be downloaded. I checked and there's nothing else downloading though

When you try to exit it should say how long is left. It's pretty big. I got out but the first mission is tough on your own. Only did it to play with a couple of mates but the first mission is random so we're nowhere near each other. Bit annoying.

Just noticed that PS+ Online Storage back-up is all done automatically. No annoying separate settings. It seems the PS4 UI is designed more akin to Apple's simplistic approach of only showing what's really needed. You can still manually change things under Settings.

For those who haven't done so: if you want to change your profile photo (not your avatar!) you can link your Facebook profile to copy it from there. You can also use that to copy your real name (which is a boon for people with a space in their surname as the PS4 itself doesn't allow spaces to be inputted in surnames atm).

JPR, some guy on Gaf went a bit crazy about the pipes not being at the correct angle or something, so that when you have it stoodvertical, the cooling is x% less efficient ... or something. I'm keeping mine flat. After my experience with the 360 being vertical and it dying EVERY. FUCKING. TIME. I have since resolved to keep all consoles in their oiriginal intended positions.

Yeah I read that, though it seemed to be at a stalemate when I gave up on the thread. I had seen mention of it being slightly louder but this wasn't slight, no doubt depends on the game and what it's doing.

Keeping mine horizontal now, but something for others to keep in mind if they find it's a bit noisy vertically.

I feel like a kid in a sweet shop today, all these games I want to play but unlike the sweets I can't just stuff them all in at once.

Yeah, but when you boost try and get them in a line and boost through them all one-by-one, every one you hit recharges your boost a little. I expect some enemy waves will be set so you can boost all round the level like NiGHTs' link runs. I'm a long way from doing anything that cool though!

Yep. Most I've managed is two laps on the 2nd level. Does anybody know how the overcharge weapon should be used?

Yeah, but wasn't that the same guy couldn't wrap his head around basic perspective on picture, and said it was single pipe instead of two orientated at 90 degrees? I'll never be standing mine up, I'm too scared it will fall over. I already felt bad when my camera fell off the TV during Killzone.

Speaking of Killzone, I think next time I play it I'm moving the difficulty down to 'wuss' until I know what the hell I'm doing, so I'll hopefully enjoy it more.

Even let my son go through the motions so I could see whether it would be an issue with him... nothing.

Last night took an age to get to sleep, as I discovered I can watch the IGN app on the Vita in bed. Just a shame that Netflix doesn't work on remote play.

Noob question on FIFA. Not played in a few years. Where's the best place to start? I want to play mostly online eventually. There seem like a lot of options.

I just can seem to feel anything for trophies. Small thing but I always felt a little moment of happiness when that message and ping noise came up on the 360.

No. Your starting super hero mentor determines which city you start in. Superman and Wonder Womand for Metropolis and Batman for Gotham. All three have different mission chains to start with. Also it's a themepark MMO so the first mission for everyone is basically kill 10 rats (Or Gorillas in the case of Superman). What's hard about it?

It looks like it wants me to leave the fucking client running to get the download though which is a bit shit.

For those who got that £16 for a year of Music Unlimited deal, it works WONDERFULLY on ps4! Just get an album/playlist on the go, load up a game, and you have your own custom soundtrack!

I was properly impressed when I had Haim's album blaring out of my Vita as I played Killzone over remote play in bed - that was a proper next-gen moment for me :-D.

Now, to get back to Killzone before I get up for the day...
