Woah, woah, woah! Cool your jets, buddy!

I wasn't having a go at you. I was having a go at the website, where as far as I can see, on the UK one, there is no mention of this sale, at all. Which is pretty fucking shoddy, really. Like Alex says, it's like they don't want your money. I just don't understand why there is no advertising for it on the site.

Just sign in on UK account an search for a game off the list.

I'm not saying you can't on the UK website, but it's not exactly intuitive if an average punter wanted a quick browse in their lunch hour. Search the US website then loading up the UK website to search for the game you've just spotted is just as stupid as Amazon UK having a shit website but it's OK since you can just browse the US website and come back to Amazon UK to buy.

Thirded. I've been cynical about the pricing of GOnD for a while now, but these are genuine sale prices. Comparing them to second hand, unknown condition copies isn't really a valid way of judging the discounts.

Hopefully this sale will be extremely popular and let MS know there's an apetite for reasonably-priced digitally-distributed games. Steam sales etc etc. Regular sales with good deals like this would certainly encourage me to buy more digitally. Call me a nitpicker but having to put the disc in even though the game has been copied onto the drive is a niggle so having the games there ready to play would draw me in.

Don't have Halo 4... So I goes up to get it cheap and didn't realise it was only for one day. Now it's back up to stupid money again. Damn.

... And yes, I also want digital installed versions where I don't have to put the disc in to play. So I'll just wait till it goes cheap again.

This generation could end up having an even longer tail if they start doing cheaper digital releases. Especially if those releases won't work on the next gen machines.

Resident evil stuff today:

Code Veronica 4.49

Resi 4,5,6 8.99

Bollocks, I braved CEX yesterday to buy a smelly second hand copy of Resi 6 for £15. I had been holding off until it was cheaper. Ah well at least I can trade it in.

So, what was the consensus on Resi 5 and 6. I loved Resi 4 but was put off by the whole co-op aspect to the demo of Resi 5 and didn't even bother the Resi 6 demo (if there was one). Are they actually good games despite the general level of hostility they both seem to attract?

I tried RE5 for the first time last night as a leftover from PS+ a few months back. Holy shit, I barely managed an hour - it's like someone saw Resident Evil 4 being played by someone once and they tried to remember what was good about it but ended up making a bizarre, vaguely racist tribute. It's terrible.

There's no way I'd play through RE4 for a fourth time if I bought it again, even though it's one of my favourite games of all time. It'd just sit on my pile of shame. So why is my wallet twitching like a Mexican jumping bean?!

Maybe I'll tell myself I'm buying it so my wife can play it. That'll work.

Also, just to counterbalance, I loved RE5. I played it through three times in co-op, but then again, co-op makes everything better. In terms of how much fun I had:

RE5 co-op > RE4 >>> RE5 single player

I also loved RE5 in co-op, although only the first time.

I played it with different people, with quite different play styles, so had quite a different experience each time. My and my buddy Grim... still routinely joke about the time he took down a Majini with a rocket launcher using only the taser stick. I was in hysterics, shouting down the mike, telling him he was a tit and the last checkpoint was miles back as he charged forward... only for him to somehow pull it off. The git.

One side affect of the multiple playthroughs was that I was monstrously powered up by the end. I had some massively upgraded sawn-off that brutally massacred the executioner bloke you meet early on who, in my first playthrough, I just cowered and hid from. That element of becoming powered up was well handled in my opinion, although it required serious investment.

RE6 has its flaws but I really enjoyed quite a lot of it. It's also worth that price for Mercenaries alone, with the added combat abilities and how good the combat system is in general you should get less than a tenners worth of fun out of it at least. They also added the abilitiy to skip a lot of QTEs I think in the newest patch as well as alter the camera so it should be even better compared to when I played it.
