Morrowind Goty Edition

Not all apparently.  From a previous thread on here I read that the bug where you randomly lose items from your inventory was declared 'unfixable' by the dev team....

/boggle

Morrowind was actually constructed from bugs alone. All strung together with a fine mesh of glitches and chugs.

i heard morrowind was your favourite ever game JP, closely followed by kotor and sim city ... ;)

i cant wait for this .. borrowed morrowind once - spent about 3hours just making characters and nothing else ... wonder if i'll ever get time to play this version ...

.::: What else to expect from a team that made a console game that was shipped with a patch on-disc?

If this means I can play the game without any fears that my save game might get deleted in the process, I might try it again.

The funnies thing about MW (Pc), is going into the contruction kit and creating a new race for yourself.

FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET!

LEAP TALL BUILDINGS IN A SINGLE BOUND!

All this and MORE!

I've been playing it for quite a few weeks - it looks just the same as the original (except for the addition of health bars for whatever you're fighting), plus the two expansion packs of course (bloodmoon and tribunal IIRC). However, it hasn't crashed, frozen, or given me DDE's in what must be over 50 hours of play on the GOTY edition.

My only gripe was that I couldn't use my PAL save with an NTSC GOTY edition. But my newly vamped up head of the mages guild, living in my very own telvanni tower is keeping me very entertained. I'm thinking I may wander off to Solstheim for the werewolf thing soon rather than finish the main quest.

Oh god, I'm a morrowind geek.

They should have done what Origin did....

Release an add-on which uses it as the storyline, now THATS genius....

Is this a full price release or not?

Gameplay and game both have it priced at £30, Although that will maybe change as it gets nearer to the release date.

I would definitely buy it for £30 if most of the major bugs are gone, I played through quite a bit of the original game when it was released only to give up when my save got corrupted.

With the original I found that if you stoped playing for a few days that was it, getting back into the game was impossible I did love the game at the time though. If I would play it again is another matter.

Did you set up a permanent 'home' in the game? It may be sad, but that was one of the things I enjoyed most, arranging all my items, coming back to rest in the same bed to level up, etc. Perhaps it's because I used to always keep my stuff in the same room in Ultima Underwold 2...

Yes I sure did, very nice it was too, thinking back I put some houres into that game. Its one of them that suck you in and while it has hold of you its hard to stop playing.

True, although my gf was extremely glad when I finished it. The sound of one of those flappy Pterodactyl things (flapjacks, I called them) hitting your shield is possibly the most grating sound effect ever.

CLANG! Argh.

CLANG! Argh.

CLANG! Argh.

Swipe! SCREECH!

CLANG! Argh.

Etc...

Got back into this lately and one thing I noticed is if you carry just a few essential items the game is alot more stable and smoother, in fact since I stored all my crap away the game has'nt crashed once.

When i got the game i remember reading that if you kept your save file smaller than x amount there would be less chance of it crashing or losing you stuff.I think carrying alot of things might have increased the save size but i'm not sre what else would.

I f you didn't dispose of the bodies that also took up alot of space I think.

True. I realised I had about 50 save games, and the game was chugging/crashing a lot. Knocked it down to 3 and there was a big improvement.

Ridiculous loading times though. I used to make a cup of tea during the initial load.
