Bibio - Silver Wilkinson

I've liked Bibio forever. His first few albums were very lofi and guitar-based, with masses of tape saturation and Boards of Canada-esque synth melodies. His vocals started creeping into his music, and his last two albums - Ambivalence Avenue and Mind Bokeh - were very electic, mostly-vocal affairs. Some instrumental hip-hop. Some funk.

His new LP is out today, and it's fantastic. A bit less eclectic than his last two, and more focused, which I think makes it a better album. It's a lot more guitar-based, too, but obviously still has oodles of analog synthiness and the odd Dilla-style sample cut-ups.

Here's the single, À tout à l'heure, which is the most upbeat and radio-friendly track on the album.

I love him and think he's brilliant, and you might too.
