Depends on the type of games you're playing really. Are you thinking of going to any tournaments?

I've not had much experience with Space Wolves but that looks like a pretty solid list. You've got enough high damage weapons to deal with armour and probably enough troops to claim objectives etc. It is a bit of a static shooty list, is that a playstyle you think you'll enjoy?

Oh and personally I couldn't have a Space Marine army without including at least one dreadnought!

thanks for the advice, yeah I prefer a straight stand up fight. I feel there are some weak points in there and I am currently trying to fine tune it a bit as I tend to play some pretty power-gamery types...

Might swap out two of the rune priests for more grey hunters and perhaps throw some more termies in there by getting Logan Grimnar.

Dreads are sort of nerfed a little due to 6th ed.

There's a couple of issues here.

1: two of your rune priests have the same gear - that's not allowed (or do they have different powers?)

2: You can't buy a Rhino for a squad in terminator armour.

and another possible issue - I don't have the codex to hand, but don't you have too many HQ units there?

Nah Im ok on the HQ number, we are special snowflakes and are allowed 4 HQ. Still gonna get rid of two rune priests as they just seem to sit about and do nothing, points can be better spent on my grey hunters.

Thanks for the feedback, regarding the rune priests, yeah I didnt make it clear they have different powers

also I realise the rhino thing, sorry. Used battlescribe to do it and mucked up.

I think Im gonna ditch two redundant rune priests, Get another wolf guard squad of termies and a few more grey hunters. Reassemble the hunters into squads of 10 and give one a rhino and one a razorback to get them across the board faster. Gonna split the long fangs into a missile based squad and a plasma cannon/lascannon anti infantry gang....

I made some changes. Dropped two rune priests, expanded second wolf guard. Four squads of ten man grey hunters, one with a rhino, one with a razorback the rest on foot. Two squads of long fangs, one with missile launcher spam, the other plasma cannons, lascannon and multi melta for anti infantry. A Predator to keep large vehicles off my back....

Too many heavy support. You can only have 3.

Aside from that i'm not a fan of plasma cannons. Unless what you're shooting is clumped up the template isn't that great, scatters an average of 3" and they're weak against vehicles compared to the alternatives. Either give the 2nd squad missile launchers or pick between heavy bolters and lascannons. At least they can't kill themselves then.

Elite choices can't capture objectives so they have to actually be killing stuff to have an effect and basic terminators with storm bolters on foot aren't very good at that. If it was codex marines i'd suggest thunder hammer and storm shields but wolf guard seem to pay a lot more (63 points to something like 40). I'd at least consider dropping one squad and taking a fast attack choice instead like land speeders.

cheers

Im really using this as a method of finding out what my next purchases should be. I know Im only allowed 3 heavy support, think I should just meld the fangs back into one squad.

Other than that though, Im at least going to survive turn two with this setup yeah?

You need to move one of the Wolf Guard heavy weapons to the other squad but other than that it's better. I still think they're the weakest part of the army though.
