I remember watching you against Napoli away early in the group stage where you struggled against similar shithouse tactics.

Scruffy goal. But should never have given away the corner in the first place. Poor from Van Dijk.

Why didn’t you predict this? :quote:

We're all over them, but not stretching them. I don't doubt we'll score, but they are a deeply unpleasant team to play against.

The analysts will be getting a second half plan together as we speak.

I'm not sure there is much more they can do against a team so deep that Van Dijk and Gomez have ended up 15-20 yards inside the Atletico half. It's set up for a 2-0 win, a counter attacking goal in the second half whilst Liverpool press for an equaliser.

Or one of ours getting sent off. Seems to be their aim during this phase.

They were definitely targeting Mane. Sensible to take him off and keep him for Anfield.

Delivery has been dreadful overall, but that was better from Gomez.

Origi not done much of use since coming on. Just not finding the penetration right now. We'll get another good chance and must take it.

Liverpool have played well below the standards of recent seasons, but these are a bunch of pricks. Need some Robbo snide.

1-0 wouldn’t be a complete disaster, but fear 2-0 could be.

This is absolutely dreadful.

Only positive is it’s only 1-0. For now.

How the fucks that not a foul on Ox. All the shite he's given them all game and he doesn't give that. This ref is fucking awful.

We've not had many of them these days, but we need to take it on the chin. Not been good tonight, so move on and improve.

Even that Qatari ref at the CWC was more competent.

I'll take a 1-0, the ref is buying everything Athletico are selling tonight and giving us nothing.

This. Fucking. Ref

It's a handball, he plays advantage, we got no advantage and he doesn't pull it back. What the fuck.

It was always going to be tough against Shithousery FC but they did they job. Hopefully the rustiness will be gone by the second leg, just need to stop them scoring at Anfield.

I for one am looking forward to Diego Costa rolling around at Anfield.

Shit night yes, but hopefully it galvanises us for the rest of the season.

Disjointed performance, not helped by a ref that would probably buy snow in Antarctica.

Really need an early goal in the second leg, the longer it goes on the worse Atletico’s antics will get.

Honestly, I still cant believe that deliberate handball didn't get pulled back OR he didn't get a card for it.
