Think Nunez will one day be an answer on Would I Lie To You.

”I once watched a 6ft 5 footballer provide an assist, rattle a crossbar, goad opposition fans with a big grin on his face, record the second-fastest running speed in the league, while sporting a magnificent ponytail, do a daft jig that even a referee laughed at before getting a Klopp hug and disappearing into the night. No one knew where he went at night, but off he went, only to reappear in time for the next game where he scored a hattrick before getting sent off in the first half”

Wow. You're obnoxious in your team thread too. I thought you were obnoxious in just football threads.

Well it was a reply to some pencil neck who decided to post in this thread on a Monday morning to try and goad me or something!

Look I know you used to get bullied by Liverpool fans at school in the 80s (I wasn’t at school until the 90s so wasn’t able to enjoy that power) but you can give up now, we’re not your enemies. Nobody is bullying you here.

Nunez is the most exciting player I have seen since Torres and Suarez. When he gets the ball, you sit up because 'something' is about to happen.

That something could be spectacular or hilarious, but it will be something.

He reminds me a bit of Faustino Asprilla, in terms of I don't think his brain know what his body is going to do but it is going to be fun to watch.

I think I love him.

That just says they're open to selling shares not the club.

It starts with the shares…

Mixed feelings really. I’ve never been particularly anti-FSG but the squad has been underfunded by rival’s standards in recent transfer windows.

Although seeing people (elsewhere) hoping for a billionaire sugar daddy to swan in is a bit grubby. And would such ownership invite instability? It works for Chelsea, but they’re horrible Tory bastards. Cautiously interested to see what develops.

Saint Maximins first season at Newcastle gave me similar vibes to Asprillia

you say that like they've ever needed excuses not to spend

Of course, but the way the season is going, they were going to be forced into spending. Previously they could fall back on the success of the current team.

In their minds. I'm not defending them.

They have overseen the most successful period in decades. Defend away!

Nobody is perfect, seems they've done a lot for the club.

I'm a bit surprised when I read fans were indifferent to FSG, as from an outsider's perspective they look like the model owners within the context. I just read Klopp's remarks about City as probably echoing the sentiment from above, that installing the best manager in the world, having a peerless recruitment system, pumping huge amounts of money into wages and playing great football isn't enough. If that's the case then they're right to cash in, as really what's the point? As an Arsenal fan I can see us burning out in a couple of years after City or Newcastle swat us away with a level of spend that goes beyond the gross extravagances our owner has ploughed in recently. The reality is you can do everything perfectly and still come up short. I think American owners might hold out to see what happens with this Super League arbitration and then decide what to do with their chips. Liverpool won't be the last I reckon.
