Sterling still can't hit sitters, worth over a £100k a week currently? Of course not.

I'm not confident for Saturday, not if Lovren and Johnson are playing. We are going to concede goals.

He's got to pay for his nitrous oxide and shisha pipes though...

I fear that Sterling will turn out to be another English prospect hampered by arrogance and poor attitude off the pitch. The more I hear of these stories the more I'm inclined to see the club sell him for big £££ confident that his career will never reach the heights to fill the club with any regrets.

I remarked to somebody at work today - half-joking - that it's like he's doing these things to push to club to wanting to sell him.

I don't really think that, it's merely a reminder that he's just a kid that does some silly things like we all have.

It's all a bit convenient that these pictures are coming out now isn't it? You have to wonder whether the club have been sat on them, releasing them now because it might put people off buying him or maybe it's the newspapers that have waited for the right time to call him up on these things. Whatever it is, it's very suspicious.

Personally, I'd love him to stay at the club, he's a great prospect and could be a world beater. If he wants to go though, well I don't think it will be as damaging to us as people think and I'd rather we make money on him than have him possibly sulk his way to the end of his contract.

I'm beginning to think Studdger might be a bit of a prima donna too, especially after Rodgers comments of players needing to understand that they will always have niggly injuries through their career. Maybe he just needs to play through the pain once in a while?!

Pretty important in the summer that we buy a proven striker, an established right back, competition for The Mig and potentially a solid centre back. There are certainly some players that need to be shipped out.

Wasn't that the shopping list for last summer too?

I agree with you up until the bit about him getting to the end of his contract. I think that's the least likely outcome. He's turned down 100k p/w. Accepting that offer would have seen him earn £6.76m more over the next two years of his contract. Can you really see it making sense for him to stay on £35k p/w so that he can leave for nothing in two years? Sure, he might make the difference back in a signing on fee after leaving on a bosman, but then again I'm sure he'd be treated very differently by the manager than he currently is. It's too much of a risk to turn down that sort of money and risk your development over a period of two years. I think he'll sign an extension this summer, whether he sees himself staying on for the long haul or not.

I reckon that was aimed at Mario. He's the one that has made himself unavailable for games due to injuries after the medical team have passed him as fit to play. Sturridge has been suffering with a series of soft tissue injuries.
