I don't think I remember a player treating the club so badly like Suarez has, Torres and Owen this is not. The club stuck by Suarez through his many controversies even dragging its own name through the dirt to support the player.

Neymar, Falcao, Cavani, Leandro Damiao and Higuain don't go around biting people. You genuinely think a team is going to throw 35-50 million at a player with a suspect temperament?

Yes as he's an exceptionally good footballer. He's a world class forward that is available. The players above are not, or are unlikely to be if Damiao / Higuain get their deals tied up.

Many truely exceptional players have suspect temperaments. Zidane clocked up 12 red cards. Scholes was a nasty bastard. Totti likes to spit on opponents etc.

I'll go out on a limb and say two bites and a racist comment, and whatever else he's done in his short career, are quite a lot worse than a few mistimed challenges.

No shit Batman. My point still stands. Some truely exceptional players have done a bit of head butting, spitting, Kung fu kicking etc. Few teams would have turned them down.

Suarez is one of very few exceptionally talented players that are genuinely, readily available this summer. Liverpool don't need to flog him off for little more than they paid for him though.

That's not our problem, why should we take a hit? they can pay the price for his value as a footballer and then anything else is for whoever buys him to sort out

I can't compare Torres to Owen though, the situations were completely different.

Torres was promised things that didn't happen. Then Rafa was sacked and Hodgson brought in, who in turn bought terrible signings. As Torres you'd look at that and think there's no way this team has the same ambitions I do. He gave us 6 months (alebiet, sulky ones) and then left to go win things. He did just that. Plus he brought us in £50m. I don't like the team he left us for, but it could have been worse.

Owen on the orher hand wouldn't sign a new deal, strung us along and ended up leaving for £8m. Someone of his talent should have been leaving for no less than £25m. He then went to United later on, cause he's a mercenary through and through.

Torres leaving it to the last possible moment of the transfer window to hand in a transfer request and then cause us to panic buy Carroll for a ridiculous amount was a pretty big dick move on his part, same kind of levels as Owen dickery perhaps.

Hopefully he gets plenty of first team action and returns to us even better than before. Suso

I don't know but . Really don't think it happened like that, I reckon the club forced him to put in a transfer request. We didn't need to buy Caroll either as he was already injured so there was little pint in buying him until the summer transfer window.

Gerrard's signed his contract extension now. Hardly surprising news, but it's good to have it wrapped up now rather than it dragging on. A year ago, I'd have said he was on his way out, but he was phenomenal last season, here's hoping for another good year from him. Hopefully we can give him at least one more Champion's League campaign and another push for the league title before he hangs up his boots, because Lord knows he deserves it.

Sack that off, if they want a player swap then £15-20m plus Higuian at least. We need to be ruthless here. There are teams that definitely want him which means we hold all the cards at the moment (as no transfer request has gone in). We need to make sure we don't get the piss taken out of us like has happened before.

If LFC don't want a player swap then £40m minimum.

Good Pre-Season game, only Borini was poor he really needs to start performing.

Rumours offer from Real for Suarez 10M+ Player Swap Higuain

I'd go for that because we wouldnt be able to get someone as good as Higuain as a replacement anyway unless it was that kind of swap deal, say we got 40-45m cash for Suarez we wouldn't be able to attract anyone good, so 10m & Higuain which is technically 30-35m going on Higuain is fine with me even if its a rip off

Yeah I have to say I'd be fuming if Arsenal actually went and signed him for like £40m or whatever. He had a good season last year, interspersed with mental outbursts, but was he truly that good? He still seems to be a bit wasteful, which I gather Liverpool fans have moaned about for a while, both in terms of missed chances and getting dispossessed.

Great player. Massive dickhead. Possibly a tad overrated(?) IMO not worth £40m+ but we'll see I guess.

He's worth at least what Torres went for, especially with so long left on his contract - he's in better form than Torres was when he left, and he's the type of player who could improve any team, not having to have one built around him.

Of course, the whole biting/racism stuff could lower his price somewhat...
