Elliot, again, has shown he is miles ahead of everyone else in the youth ranks. What a signing he will be, if they can keep him happy and he improves as he should.

The team have had the better of the match in general but Everton have had the better chances. There doesn't seem to be any threat at all from Liverpool up top at the moment.

He probably had his story for the grandkids written out...

Let me tell you about the time I scored a game winning penalty at the Kop End in the league cup against Arenal. Poor fucker needs to get it re-written.

Only downside was the Milner injury. Everything else was perfect. Minamino got a taste of things, Oxlade-Chamberlain got some minutes in and looked sharp when he came on. Jones, Williams, Larouci, Elliot all showed we can trust them if needed. Phillips and Chirivella also looking solid. Gomez stood up and led the defence despite only being young himself. Adrian doing what a backup needs to do. Origi did hat he needed and let the kids around him play and Lallana looked liked he revelled in doing a babysitting job and being a calm head if needed.

Jones' interview post-match shows how confident these kids are too. Frustrated at not getting in the team... at 18.

I take back what i said before about losing in the next round 3-0 if we won, i feared a villa park repeat(why?), really enjoyed watching that, underdogs for once and we bossed them even if they had a few good chances against the run of play
