Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Official Server: Moogle)

Ah right. So I've got to create an account on a web page first and associate my PSN ID with it to unlock the game?

Taking a look now. Cheers :-)

Might be easier to create it on the web page, your Square Enix account that is. Then once you start the game you can link your SE with your PSN account and you are good to go, very simple setup.

Beware though, the whole sign up procedure before on the PS3 and PC beta was ridiculously confusing mess, it's not a Square-Enix website account you specifically want, I think you have to sign up via Mogstation?

Is anyone else finding the text boxes and menus really tiny on the PS4?

You can change the sizes of them, think its L1 and R3 (on PS3), not 100% certain of that combination though.

Hmmm...this is confusing. I've signed up and got a Square Enix Account. But can't start the game to link that with my PSN ID as the game still has a padlock icon and says I need a license to start it.

Looking a Mogstation it appears to need a code that you get when buying the game.

Yup, sounds like a FFXIV:ARR beta

You don't have dual PSN ID's, do you? I started the US Beta on my EU account earlier and got a similar error message. It doesn't look as if you can use the beta version from a different region (like you can with any other game, if you've set both ID's as primary). You're definitely using your correct region?

Ah ok, weird though, definitely the same region message I had. What a waste of 10.6gb! :(

As an aside, it's a big shame that this has a region lock, as it means I (and I imagine a few others who have the same set up) won't be able to use Remote Play, as my Vita has my US PS Plus account on it.

Playing the non-beta servers at the moment. Just got three levels of conjuror xp running three dungeons. Still go a full level of rest xp :) During the last dungeon everyone had massive crippling lag. For the final boss fight all I could do was run around in circles spamming medica and hope nobody dropped :)

Think I'll be passing the time with the PS3 version until the PS4 launch too.

Did have a quick look at the Beta earlier and was suitably impressed with the visuals. Tried remote play on the Vita too which looks ideally suited to some of the more mundane tasks.

Does anyone know what you do with commendations you receive from players who've enjoyed doing a dungeon with you?

You get achievements for them that have rewards the more you get. When you get one of the achievements there is a guy in Old Gridania you have to visit who then gives you the reward.

I've rolled a conjurer on beta server 3, Tempra Gilbottom is my name, and healing will be my game! I'm a bit overwhelmed with the map/UI/everything at the moment, may take a few days to get the hang of things.

Ps4 version looks very nice, managing pretty busy areas with only a little slowdown.

Level 10½ now, still having some serious troubles finding my way around though. I'm not sure I like these instanced MMORPGs, I just think it makes it so bloody hard to find your way around.

And I died for the first time, and was teleported back to the main city... what is up with that, that was a bit annoying.

The map in this game does take a long time to find your way around. The ingame map function is about as unhelpful as it's possible to be.

When you die you are teleported back to whichever big crystal you set to be your home.

I played a bit of this back when ARR launched and enjoyed it but got distracted by other shiny things. I think I stopped just before doing the first proper dungeon.

Does anyone know if there still a decent number of people doing the lower level dungeons or is it going to be...problematic?

There's a daily low level random dungeon duty finder that gives more rewards the higher your level. Also I believe dungeon runs are currently considered the best way to level alt jobs. So yeah.

At what level can you try out the first dungeon? I rolled a Marauder, so I guess I could be tanking? Do you select what role you want before entering the que?

I'm levelling conjuror on my live character at the moment. She's also a level 30 archer with bard unlocked and a million other jobs at varying levels. Vita remote play is going to be nice for grinding out the gathering classes laid in bed :)

I got three full levels last night running four dungeons. (Lots of rest XP and the XP for mobs seems to have increased) By the end BT had given me such bad packet loss that I would start a fight and it would be a freeze frame with me just spamming heal spells and hoping for the best. Which apparently worked. The other guys in the party said my spells were still firing and keeping people alive :) I'd regain control and find everyone gone and the party further into the dungeon :)

Here's my character in her conjuror outfit
