I do like how they balance the fact that Thamaturgery is a dark art by making the guys in charge of the guild pyscho little people with family troubles :)

If I order this for the PS3 and the store can send me the codes from the box, do I have to have the physical disc at all?
I'm having issues with trying to get Shopto to mail my game to Japan (my credit card billing address is in the UK).
I was on the Phase 3 and 4 Beta so I already have the client.

Tanked the first dungeon last night. Seemed really easy - you can tell it's been designed with mmo newbies in mind and apparently they get progressively more difficult, which is good. It reminded me of Deadmines in WoW, as it's pirates in a cave. Didn't have the 'cool' moment of finding a pirate ship or anything, though it was all pretty enough I guess. Looking forward to seeing what the others have in store.

From the sounds of it, the dungeons are easy-ish (you can still mess up if you have a bad tank, healer who's not healing, dps shooting stuff other than what the tank has advised ect) but really ramp up in difficulty in the mid 30s. I guess the game expects you to either have your job soul by then, or some nice cross matching skills on your class and to have gotten a hang of game concepts.

bfcon tanked Huakke Manor for me and tuts last night and that was fun. First time healing and no-one died (yay!) but I stated to get glimpses of the synergy between classes. For instance, tuts was a Bard and kept pumping out her mana regen song for me. Now, Arcanists/Scholars have a great way of getting loads of mana back every min but it means stopping healing and attacking instead which isn't optimal when the tank is being pounded on by three mobs so, for me having a Bard along who was willing to sacrifice some dps to keep me topped up made the whole dungeon much easier but I'm well aware that in a PuG it'd have probably gone a bit differently

It's a great dungeon visually too, very Castlevania-esque with some great organ music playing.

The whole game has impressed me. Server/login issues aside, when the worst thing you can say about the game is the over abundance of invisible borders and the next is that there doesn't seem to be much difference in the aesthetics of armour as you level (which is odd as there are heaps and heaps of clothes. They really need some sort of wardrobe function) then you know it's doing something right.

Most atmospheric MMO I've played since The Secret World and easily has the best weather system I've encountered.

How did this go on scholar then? A friend of mine who has been conjurer healing the early dungeons said it felt a bit 1-buttony and was concerned that there was limited options. Did you use the little faerie pet? Is physika comparable to cure? TELL ME EVERYTHING! :omg:

Hey, guys. Quick question.
What codes does the PS3 edition of the game ship with? I'm imagining some sort of unique disc code along with another one or two considering all the faffing everyone has had to go through.
I'm asking shopto to mail me the codes from the game before they ship it and they've asked me which codes it contains.

Heh.

Well, they play totally differently to CNJ/WHM. At my level I don't have a grp heal so you need to keep an eye out for everyone's health. You also don't get a cure until later so it's advised for people to carry antidote. It seems that Scholar healing is more about absorption than healing. The main spell Adloquium, is a heal which adds a damage barrier for the amount healed, so it's a careful game of trying to maximize this to get the biggest barrier because the spell eats a lot of mana to be spammed. The fairies are actually awesome. They have the typical spanner AI but they're both mega useful. The heal Fairy, Eos, has on top of her normal heal which she spams (doesn't cost you owt) frequently, a group heal, a + 20% magic defence and a +20% heal potency spell. Selene, the support fairy, has the same spam heal as Eos but has a silence, a +30% spell speed buff and a +30% action speed buff.

I think CNJ/WHM has the tools to make things easier for group healing and condition problems (at least early on, I'm only 31 so I've not yet seen everything a SCH can do) but SCH has a lot of tricks and buffs to mitigate the CNJ/WHM benefits. To me, SCH plays a lot less like a traditional healer if you're prepared to put some effort into managing the pet AI.

Thanks top-cat, sounds just as I was expecting.

Can you summon a normal dps carbunkle in scholar setup? I was curious whether you could play a dps scholar and have those nice barrier/heal skills to help out the main healer. I've always liked support/off-healer types in games and that would fit the bill, but I don't know how functional it would be.

I need helps! If anyone comes across a vendor or FATE which awards the bite sized pudding minion, please let me know. I NEED a pudding flan pet.

Think I may try for the baby tortoise one today if I can find out where to get the right bait to fish it up. This game

Also, whilst I have enjoyed playing as ARC and BRD, I'm going to aim for MNK next I think. I am always thrown in to a group with another archer or bard when using the duty finder - and although it causes no issues - I just feel being a different job or class will add more to the group! Plus it was loads if fun levelling PUG. :D
