Walt Disney Pictures has revealed the first trailer for Maleficent which you can watch below! We've also got three new photos from the film which you can view in the slideshow underneath the trailer. Opening in theaters on May 30, 2014, the action adventure stars Angelina Jolie, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

From Disney comes Maleficent—the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty. A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent's true happiness as well.

So uh, anyone watched?

Saw it last night. I defo agree Angelina Jolie carries the film. Without her, it wouldn't be quite the same.

Anyway, personally i thought it was alright. It's not as dark as i thought it would be and well,

Maleficent is never that menacing. If anything she is the good guy in this.

It certainly is the "story that we were never told" because it is very different to the original 1959 classic.

The pacing is a bit off, some of the characters are a bit annoying (the fairys) but there is something there to keep you hooked throughout. I felt that it could have done with perhaps being a little longer because at times it felt rushed.

CGI was very good, 3d was great for the first 1/3 of the film and then it didn't really seem to use it that much (or my eyes just got used to it.. been a while since i have seen a 3d movie).

Holy fuck but sharlto copley is a horrible fucking actor.

I fell asleep for about 15 minute but it was awful. Crap pacing, shitty acting, awful three stoog fairies, crap cgi, dull leads, predictible story line. The worst thing I've seen this year and I've seen amazing spider-man 2

Just don't go expecting it to be the best film ever and you should be fine.

I personally thought it was better than Alice in wonderland and wizard of Oz.

I wanted it to be darker and it felt a little rushed at times but it was enjoyable enough. Jolie was decent in it, Defo one of her better roles.

Whenever I see Maleficent's cheekbones I get the urge to just smooth them down with a nice crisp sheet of sandpaper. Not all the way down, just enough to round them off a bit.

I'm not even sure that it's not just 100% CGI now. It just doesn't look much like Angelina Jolie.
