Rick and Morty (and not Justin Roiland)

Rick and Morty *is* meta - It's a absurdist take on Science Fiction. It's a massive part of the show.

I think the issue is actually that they don't build to it; it's quite easy to overlook when it's handed to you.

Enjoyed the ending - didn't need to be a two parter and I thought the final scene should have blown away the budget with pshycedelic imagery but instead felt a little flat.

Watched Mortyplicity (decoys episode) again. It's definitely one of my favourites. I love the wooden pinnochio and muppet families, Starfox Rick and the terrifying skin-flaying Rick mutant.

Also this stupid bit I find really funny.

Even silly little things like Rick saying "It's too quiet" then getting into an argument with Summer about missing the first "It's quiet".

S6 ep 1:

Spoiler

I am a simple man, so the thing that made me laugh most was Jerry's attempt at a badass double middle finger farewell to the season 2 family.

Then shortly after that:

Mr Frundlez is the scariest thing the series has ever done.

I thought that was a fun one, wrapped up the stuff from last season nicely and some fun callbacks to old episodes. Really enjoyed the post credits bit.

Spoiler

I actually think there being no portals might be fun, more of the travelling about without just instantly hopping wherever.

Yeah, enjoyed the new one, happy to have the show back. Do wish All4 would sort out their credit squeezing though. Watching on the All4 app through a Firestick and there didn't appear to be an option to go full-screen again once the credits kicked in.
