No need to wheel out the 'surely', you've been around tobert too long. I've not said anything other than what I spouted above.. if sladie and gerry are not in then carlos joins the team next in the list.

If sladie and Gerry are legit then they are in and we'll sort shit out. Given they both posted during the 'and so's my wife' phase, I need confirmation (especially since I've not seen a peep since then).

Anyone who knows Tobert would know the phrase is 'literally' not 'surely'

Sladie said he is playing, Does he need to sign up on the site?

I sent a PM yesterday to get confirmation, so if he's not responded by 6pm then I'll assign Carlos to a team.

He's already on the site, so there isn't a barrier there.. just need confirmation from him so carlos can stop being messed about.

I know the league is a bit of fun and all that but it's probably worth the Steering Group looking at a more effective way of sorting out late signups.

The most effective way would be if

a) people didn't post saying they wanted to sign up, when they don't want to sign up

b) people keep active in the community so they can respond/interact

c) managers didn't try to bend the rules repeatedly

We'd be ok if those weren't happening.

Listen lads, no need to get bitchy. It seems pretty clear. You sign up and you get assigned a team in order...

People just need to stop mucking about and say they are actually in!

I suppose my point was that the league has a relatively complex transfer and draft system but the late signup system could potentially be abused.

Hopefully it's not got to the stage that we are going to start being precious over 17/18 minutes as far as player sign ups are concerned. This whole back and forward thing has been bad enough over the last week never mind changing it again from what Andy has said.

Sladie registered his interest albeit through Tobert when United had the vacancy. He's been away with work so hasn't be around but he's posted tonight at 6.17pm saying he'll be on.

Aye though I think the point is that Saint stated a 6pm window which was missed. That should be the matter done & dusted. Andy announcing the decision further up was his own statement not one voted by the steering group. What's the point in the Steering Group if the decision is just made randomly anyway.

In my neutral opinion Sladie should go to United as he registered his interest through Tobert whilst there was a vacancy at United but was then away with work and Carlos to City who are next in line, so I'd agree with what Andy said.
