Formula One - 2014 Season

You know what, if they do turn this around they will truly deserve the championship. They've done what 20 odd laps so far, have no idea if it'll do a race distance or even how it'll handle at full chat. I wouldn't be surprised if they started tomorrow by running it with no rear body work just to get the laps.

Knoing RBR, they will turn it around just in time for the double points races and nick it by a point of two right at the end.

I can't see it. If they are still not doing race simulations and within a second of the Mercs in the final test I think they will be a bit fucked for quite a while, maybe till mid season at earliest. Look at Macca and last year - they couldn't pull it back and they develop better than most.

We have no idea just how much of the car they will have to re design. It might compromise it too much.

Just catching up, man those noses are weird aren't they.

Glad to see the back of Gary though, that guy isn't interested in educating people about the technical side of F1, he just likes having a high opinion of himself and trotting out misinformation. Also: never trust a man who wears lots of bracelets.

Get in there Ted!

I thought I heard that after homologation engines can still be changed for reliability or safety reasons or something? If that's true then there's plenty of scope for RedBull to suddenly start blitzing around at 300mph halfway through the season.

Otherwise, LOL! :)

As much as the Red Bull situation does give me (and a lot of people) a wry smile... I'm not really sure I am 100% happy about it. I mean, I'd rather Merc and Macca were duking it out with the Red Bulls and Lotuses on track rather than giving them a monumental caning because their engine is cack. F1's always more fun when there's more cars that can win, even if some of them are run by the forces of EVIIILLLL.

Hopefully Williams can fill the void :)

On the flip side - this presents us with something we really needed to see: Vettel up against major adversity. He's had it relatively smooth since he hopped into a Red Bull - we'll now see what he's really made of.

My appreciation of Hamilton went up tenfold due to the way he coped with McLaren's 2009 shitbox. Alonso had the return to Renault years too, and Kimi had McLaren in 2004.

Speaking of Williams, Susie Wolff is going to be taking part in two Friday practices this year according to various people on Twitter, she'll also continue her role as Williams' development driver.

Rob finally moves to Williams to engineer FB.

You know what, I might just become a little bit of a Massa fan this year :)

Unless he reverts back to trying to take out Ham at every opportunity. :quote:

Speaking of Williams, the Getty Images gallery round the corner from my office has this beauty on display at the moment.

 Even though it should have been the number 6 instead. Then it would be perfect.

Just watched Rush. What a great film, I didn't know anything about them both really.

Great rivalry and respect(in the end).

It's high on my Lovefilm list but I got sent Wolverine instead to watch this weekend :(
