Puzzle and Dragons

You need different teams for different dungeons. You'll often have different set teams for different week day evo material dungeons for example. Much easier to have multiple pre-set teams than having to change your team members all the time.

I do not understand how this makes MILLIONS of dollars. What. The. Fuck.

Farmville and Candy Crush Saga must really keep you awake at night then ;) Actually, to be fair I can't see how this makes money either because as far as free to play games go this one seems pretty unintrusive so far, but there's an awful lot of collectable content and you're always going to get some nutters wanting to speed things up.

So anyway, do you just not like the gem matching genre in general or what? Why is it so shit?

IMO There's no actual game there, it's just bland and seen it before and there's nothing compelling me to go back. Played through the tutorial and four or five more dungeons. There was zero variation on a basic lack of gameplay. Deleted. I just do not get the appeal at all, as you don't really *do* anything and waiting for timers to enable you to progress just gets on my nerves.

I do like the matching genre of which Zoo Keeper is clearly the king.

There's definitely no challenge early on making it all seem utterly pointless, after a bit you do have to put thought into the chains you're making (which itself is pretty flexible - didn't even realise you could move diagonally 'til last night which made a world of difference) and the team you're building to beat a dungeon, working out what & where you need to farm to upgrade stuff - I guess that's where the game is. For nothing, I don't mind it at the moment.

If you've got a Vita then Treasures of Montezuma Blitz is pretty good, reminds me I've neglected both the Zoo Keeper games for ages now as well have to get back into them :)

There's bugger all challenge at first. Later on you get into having to make real decisions about your team, work out how to stall in order to get your skills ready before taking on a boss, etc. And the "basic lack of gameplay" is a weird complaint about a match three game: it's all about setting up very large combos, and ensuring that you've managed your skills to make best use of them.

The F2P aspects are fairly unobtrusive so far.

Every day you get free gold and pal points. Every 200 pal points you get a roll on the pal egg machine. Day 7 and onwards award 200 pal points so you're looking at one pull a day from that point unless you want to save up for a king dragon event. I've found pal rolls quite handy early on to get a selection of monsters. Sometimes it'll give you quite decent ones along with the basic stuff.

The F2P aspects become much more obvious later on when the dungeons become so hard you really need specific monsters which only come from REM to be able to make progress or spend stones restoring health/stamina.

I might just give up at that point. At the moment it's still the right side of not-that-annoying.

I played this a lot a few months ago, but then lost all my data when my phone broke. Thought I'd give it another go. Strangely newbish question, for me, though...if you get a naff monster from the post-tutorial "free" pull on the egg machine, would you uninstall and start over?

I just got 4 star valkyrie with +1 to RCV, is it worth replaying the tutorial till I get something better?

Depends how bored you are. As non-gods go, Valkyrie is about as good as you can get and can get you through most of the game if you can get the other healers and that's not too hard given they're farmable from normal dungeons, PAL machine and quite a few of the bi-weekly dragon dungeons. Also before you get those you can use carbuncles.

I meant the other eggs and not Pal, someone mentioned getting 10 for their 100th consecutive log-in or something.

Pal's certainly been cool too though, indeed.

Mystic stones you mean. Not eggs. You get 1 for finishing a complete dungeon the first time. 5 at 30 days in a row login (And 60 I think I got 5 as well). Also whenever there's a special event like the Chinese new year that just finished you tend to get one a day in an ingame mail. Dunno when the next event is though

There was an "Alert! Metal Dragons with 2x" on for a bit earlier today. Getting 30k exp from the big ones was nice! Well, it would've been if I had more than one of the right colour sodding things to make the most of upgrading :hmm:

edit: Hang on, it might've been 15k. I think 30k will come from something else I got that I need to upgrade with a gold dragon to get it to give 30k. God knows.
