Season 4 of The Professionals is on Prime, but not seasons 1 to 3 for some odd reason. Not that there's any overall story arc or anything, so it probably doesn't matter too much. However, it's the remastered version, which looks great.

The excellent Knives Out is being added 17th July & Rambo Last Blood 10th July <_<

No sign of Knives Out on Prime yet, do they normally update later in the day?

Just searched and it is now delayed to later in the month.

That’s a shame- still, something to look forward to, and that’s only a few weeks away.

Shout out to @gospvg for the recommendation of Hell on Wheels. I'd never heard of it until you mentioned it, I'm now midway through season 2 and really enjoying it. Thank you for the recommendation. :hat:

The first season is worth a watch particularly for the James Cameron episode. That said it does veer into early 2000s gross out comedy territory a fair bit which isn't to my taste but there's enough there to keep it interesting.

I wasn't a huge fan of the second season as it is a bit one-note. Yet to start on S3.

You should definitely give it a go, but I suspect it’s Marmite. I really enjoyed it, it’s knowingly stupid, and very funny in parts. The first series is the strongest I think.

I would say so. It doesn't really go where you expect it to and ditches the gaming stuff pretty early on for time travel comedy instead. Not wall to wall funny but some big laughs on occasion.

Wolf is a great character, too. Really comes into his own mid way through the first season.

I personally thought the second season was pretty good. Haven't got through the third season yet, although it loses a bit of focus.

Wolf has all the best lines and side-stories throughout. Series 3 is somewhere in the middle for me, but there is one joke in the end credits of the last episode that lifted it up a level for me.

Help! My Prime Video app on my iPad has stopped working, seemingly overnight. As I'm halfway through Buffy this constitutes a major emergency.

Every time I try and play something, it plays a second or two of video then goes back to the episode selection screen. No error message, happens consistently with everything I've tried to play.

- It doesn't seem tied to an update (the app hasn't updated since yesterday, but the videos I was watching fine yesterday now don't work).

- I've restarted the iPad and it makes no difference.

- I've deleted and reinstalled the app and it makes no difference.

- Downloading the videos, rather than streaming, makes no difference (even disconnecting from the internet and playing them displays the same error).

- Everything works fine on the other devices I own, such as my phone, so it's not an account problem.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? I don't understand how it could have done this without an app update, yet isn't fixed with a delete & reinstall.

They’re all on either All4/iPlayer/Netflix at the moment as well, sorry I can‘t be more helpful but I can’t remember which one! Think it’s All4...

Thanks - that's very handy to know.

I installed a new iOS update last night (13.6) which seemed to fix it. I doubt it was anything specifically to do with that update but it probably cleared a cache somewhere or something. Still a very odd error though for something that previously worked absolutely fine.

They have all four series up now. The remastered ones are great. They got hold of all the original film stock along with tons of production material, far better than the ones mastered off broadcast video.

This is a pretty good platform, but my god content discovery could be easier. Even when you do a search. There's a ton of fantastic old kung-fu movies on there (Shaolin Drunkard! 8 Diagram Pole Fighter!), but you wouldn't know unless you follow the "you might like..." paths. You could be forgiven for the first week simply thinking they've only got a couple of dozen films on the whole thing.

Motherfucker

I was about ten episodes into the first season of Friday Night Lights,  it was as good as I remembered, and suddenly I have too pay for it. Fuck that, I'm pirating it. Does this happen a lot? It's the first time I've experienced something suddenly becoming paid for.

Yes, they occasionally send an email warning when a TV series on your watchlist will be taken off - but more often than not, you won't get one.

Most recently this happened to me with Elementary, when I was more than halfway through a season. Its removal coincided with the height of media coverage of the BLM protests, which made me wonder if it had been prompted by that, rather than it being an issue of rights expiration. I wonder if any other unquestioningly pro-cop police procedurals got removed around the same time?

Fucking hell I was just about to start watching this!
