Got the megapack version of this from shopto for £186 earlier in the week, which comes with Astrobot, Doom VFR, Skyrim VR and Wipeout. Wasn't due to arrive until the 4th January but has turned up this afternoon, which is ideal for NYE entertainment. I gameshare with a guy who already has one so I'd already dl'ed a load of the games he'd bought. Are there are any obvious essentials missing from the list (his purchases)below:

- Batman:Arkham VR

- Carnival Games VR

- Creed - Rise to Glory

- Keep talking and nobody explodes

- Rigs

- Rollercoaster Dreams

- Spiderman Homecoming

- Statik

- Stranger Things

- Surgeon Simulator

- The Playroom

- Tumble VR

- Until Dawn: Rush of Blood

I've just bought these:-

- Thumper

- Headmaster

- Moss

- Star Wars Battlefront

- Polybius

-Everest VR

Going to wait on a price drop on Tetris and Beat Sabre.

Resident Evil VII

Ultrawings

Both are real top of list stuff and should be played asap.

Yeah I thought it might be a bit limited compared to other versions due to hardware , does it play well?

Plays fine, I've played it on Rift too - the tracking's a bit better but not night and day. Worth setting the camera above the TV. This holds true for most VR games but especially Superhot.

Superhot!

It's absolutely essential. Of the 'standing and flailing your Moves about' subgenre, it's the best I've played.

Edit: oops, someone got in there first :)

Am I doing something wrong or does everyone else have to clean the lenses pretty much every time they play too?

Its related to how warm your face is. Give your face a wash in cold water and dry yourself thoroughly and the headset won't steam up.

I did, but as i wear glasses i bought some of the protectors the guy on AV forums makes, well worth it in my opinion. Only have to clean the lenses every now and again now.

Loving Cool Paint VR! Stunning stuff. My only question is whether it’s finished because we can’t seem to get the spray can or dropper working.

Thanks for the heads up on this, I didn't know it existed. Currently a fiver on the store, it's a really fun painting in 3d space!

Yes, it's lots of fun - none of us can draw but it's great to mess around with - and there's quite a few options.

Plus, we paid $10 for it so even if it's just a casual mess around every now and then, it's more than worth it.

It's a little deceiving too because the cover art shows the girl using both controllers when in actual fact you only use one. We still can't figure out the spray can though.

Racket Fury is definitely worth getting if you like Table Tennis.  Currently a patch is being tested to add multiplayer.

The Persistance seemed to be missing off the list above as is Wipeout

I am quite enjoying Headmaster , I just want to progress that bit further each time. I'm still fairly new to VR myself so have purchased way too much in the sale.

Thanks for all the advice. I've picked up Ultrawings and will get the rest when I grab some Move controllers, which are very pricey.

Really enjoying it at the moment, thought I'd feel a lot more giddy from the experience but seems fine so far. Headmaster is ridiculously addictive though. Just. One. More. Go.

Did some more painting today and it is very cool but it also made me feel very queasy. Possibly due to my continued problems with wobbly tracking or maybe just looking at things close up and being able to swing them around you in 3D space

I bought Deracine in the sale, I really like it very much. It's a niche within a niche, people who like walking simulators and have VR with two moves, but if you fit that description I wouldn't pass up on it. Wonderful sense of place, and utterly charming (I am about half way through, I can see the story is getting a little darker). Great graphics too. It's one of those well designed VR games that work to turn the limitations of the medium into advantages.

(As an aside, I'm surprised they didn't try to finagle some sort of control scheme that only needed one Move, doesn't seem like it would be beyond the wit of man. I guess they wanted to stay true to the vision, there's a lot of Batman-VR style object manipulation)

Got a copy of Farpoint from a friend, after my purchase of Firewall which wasn't much use for me as it doesn't have any single player at all.  So far the game seems a bit basic and doesn't have much variety, but I don't care because Oh My GOD that's some serious presence right there.  You stand up to to play, you look down and see your arms in just the right place as they should be, holding a massive gun.  The way you switch between guns is lovely and feels very natural.  The Aim Controller does everything I expected, as well as I'd hoped.  It's been another revelation of how immersive VR can be.  I wonder if the rest of the game has more variety because the first hour felt very samey - but it didn't matter, because it was loads of fun.  Time Crisis next please - in fact, how about an arcade compilation of all the classic gun games done in VR.  Even just a straight arcade version in cinema screen mode with the Aim would be amazing.

It's amazing what the feeling of being there can do when playing even just an average game.

When one of the big armoured ones chargers at you and you wait and wait, you can feel the fear rising in your stomach, but still you wait, bidding your time until the very least moment before thrusting your shotgun into is dripping, fanged maw and emptying the clip, killing it instantly.

I get that fear feeling every time and it's wonderful.

Holy shit!

This is a bit Bloomin' great!

Astrobot is just phenomenal! So much fun and utterly wonderful to look at and play.

Moss is just so charming.

I've got The Inpatient on the way as I'm a huge fan of Until Dawn but apparently it's a bit poo so we'll have to wait and see.

Kids are still loving the playroom. I quite liked the VR mission in Battlefront. Still enjoying messing about in Cool Paintr VR. And while the Spiderman demo is short, it was a lot of fun.

Played a few off the VR demo packs

Job Simulator - kids loved it.

Battle Zone - this was great, short, sharp action.

Thumper - Stunning, incredibly fast, and so far, the only VR game to make me feel queasy

Rez - Glorious!

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood - Point blank refused to work no matter what I did **

**

Spoiler

I quit during the bloody intro! Clowns in VR can get fucked

Its quite samey for the first couple of hours - but as soon as you have a big boss fight (you’ll know when... trust me) things improve dramatically with more varied enemies and locations. It’s a cracking little game. I also enjoyed the story too. Hopefully we’ll get a sequel at some point.
