If after the first cuple of shows, feedback suggests no one likes it, you can drop it without any hassle. It's not like you have a board of directors at channel 4 wanting to know what's going on with your show.

The initial idea sounds like possibly worst idea ever, save for a few of Alan Partridge's ideas for TV programs, but your update with more details sounds like it could be good if executed well.

It might even provoke some good postage from the appointed forumites and those in teh topics thay create, rather than the usual......I digress

The fact is, there aren't any to people which can adquately represent the forum as a whole. There aren't any "all-rounders", and it will just be a popularity contest.

No idea how you're going to implement a forum section on a TV-style programme, but I suspect the forum King/Queen idea is better than just taking good excerpts EDGE-style and um, talking about them. In a monotonously boring tone of voice.

I think some of you might be missing the point. We're going for a comedic element to this, that being that whoever we choose as our K & Q will be the people whose word we treat as gospel.

Or if we don't like what they're saying- "What the fuck is he on about? The power's gone to his head."

If we do a bit on, lets say, the state of Nintendo right now, and look at what the forums are saying, we'll say "yes, but what is Guru Meditation Error saying on the issue?"

And if she's talking sense, we'll treat her like our best friend, and if she's talking shite we'll say "she's lost it! The pressure's getting to her!"

Its just a little gimmick to hang our forum watch on, so that it's not a dry little "so this month, everyone was banging on about Rez. Again."

I think that could be quite funny...make sure it's someone everyone in the forum know...

It probably won't be shit, if a game is good I have nothing against it. Halo 1 was fun, if Halo 2 is great, i'll have a go of it on someone elses console but it's not something i'd buy.

Also, i'd rather work with Laine than against her, this is trying to breed competition. If you did a 'what the girls think' section it would be more productive, together Laine, Yumbody, myself and the others could give a better representation. Also, calling it forum king and queen is so cheezy, Rllmuk Representatives and NTSCUK Representatives would be more professional as although a person of each sex will be chosen, it doesn't seem like some idiotic prom thing or that everybody should be watching what the 'king' and 'queen' are saying. Why you don't just do an 'from the forum' section highlighting /selected/ posts from different people, like Edge used to do, I don't know. That would be more productive and make for a more interesting cross-section of topics than focusing on the goings on of one person.

Yeah I don't like the fact that it seems like a competition either, there is no forumite better than all the others here, and we don't want a sudden "celebrity" member who gets 5082 replies to all their posts in the hope that some of them will be on a tv programme.

I think it would be better if you picked a certain person each time, and followed what they'd been doing for a month - without telling them in advance. That way everyone just posts normally and you get to do your schtick.
