I want to invest in some equipment for recording and streaming footage from consoles both new and old.
Can someone give me a good run down of what I should be investing in?
Setting up for newer systems is a no issue as stuff like the Elgato HD60 tends to cover all of them.
I want a set up that will allow me to capture footage from SNES, PS2, N64, GameCube etc to a not-shit standard without spending a fortune doing so.

Im selling a framemeister.

If youre do inclined to want one.

Thanks but it’s probably out of my budget atm. I’ll hear your price anyway just in case.

I got my capture card today. Elgato Game Capture HD, it’s older but my pc doesn’t have the specs for the hd60. It even came with a component adapter which is nice.

Just need to find some splitters now. A splitter for HDMI, a splitter for component and a converter for the other output types like composhite and rgb.

Only discovered this game fairly recently, I really liked it.

If you like that check out it's sequel Ghoul Patrol and semi sequel Herc's Adventure (the latter I'm still trying to track down a USA Saturn copy of) the PS1 version is cheaper and got a PAL release, but will set you back £40+

Right this week we start with a look at Yoshi Cookie on SNES and as this is a Nintendo game, I've got to talk about it:

In 1995 Penn and Teller wrote a game.  It was never released.

But by 2019, that game had raised $5million for children in hospitals.

How did that happen? What would a Penn and Teller game even be like? And how can you help them raise the next $5million?

So last week, we jumped on the Atari Lynx band wagon picking up a unit, the second one we bought, picked up one many years ago, but the unit had a failed screen, so took it back.

Really impressed with the power of the system and the first game we got with it was Blue Lightning a arcade title like After Burner. Plays, looks and controls very well and for a 1989 title it, blows just about every home port of After Burner out of the water as a game. Just a pity there isn't much music on this one.

I love my Atari Lynx but I’m seriously considering getting a Benn Venn lcd for it (the McWill ones are too expensive) but I would need someone to install it for me.

Yeah been looking at some of the screen mods as well they make the games look fantastic.

This week some retro gameplay from Command & Conquer Red Alert, with the remaster due next year, it's always great to play a classic like this, which has stood the test of time.

Might as well shove this in here. I got the chance earlier this year to visit the real life inspirations behind Shenmue, so thought i'd make a video about it and share it. If you ever go to Tokyo, do take the chance to go here, it's about an hour a way and a beautiful place to visit.

Actually managed to do a timely video, just in time(ly) for the PS1's 25th birthday:

Got me thinking I should do one for 25 Saturn games, seeing as its also turned 25. Well you made me buy World Scariest Police Chases, which is one game not on my shopping list until now. The Runabout series had no luck, the first game got renamed in PAL, but the second one was named Runabout 2, the Dreamcast one was superb how ever. The 3DS game was also renamed to Crash City Mayhem, poor Climax no wonder the series didn't sell all that well in the west. Few I hadn't seen before, but I wasn't a big PS1 fan during it's heyday.

Quick look at Gates of Zendocon on the Atari Lynx today, best shmup on the system, 20 minutes of gameplay, but I should do a full playthrough at somepoint, really good game on the Lynx. Has it's flaws yes, but a huge game with a lot of depth.

Found an old school tip page to it, that details all the routes through the game and the mechanics: https://amigan.1emu.net/kolsen/tips/GAT.html

I thought I remembered this being someone on here.  I love this and tweeted a link for others.  It's not just a look at the area, you really know your Shenmue and that brings a lot to the video even if you didn't know the game at all, just as an illustration of modelling an area for a game.

Thanks, thats really appreciated! Sadly i don't get much chance to do youtube content so the algorithms bury anything i make so every single share and view is super appreciated. I'm hoping to do some more showing the retro game stores of Tokyo and Osaka as well as documentary style stuff on actual consoles. Just need more free time!

Last video of 2019 was a playthrough of the superb Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Duel, which is one of the best one versus one fighters on the 16 bit console.
