Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

Mentions of Nintendo saying they want it to come out in 2015 in that article, or the one it links to: none. I'm sure they would like it to (and who wouldn't), but they haven't said so there and certainly haven't promised it. Actually, apart from people saying it I can't find anywhere where Nintendo themselves have directly said it. Did it come up one one of the Treehouse interviews? Might have done, I can't remember. But anyway, as Toad Tracker shows, no point putting too much stock in any of the potential release dates at the moment really.

Well, there is this. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/468016/star-fox-wii-u-about-a-year-from-completion-miyamoto-says/

But yes, nothing is set in stone in this industry.

Indeed. Anyway, for shame I've not even reached any of these Toad levels in SM3D World, when does the first one crop up so I can see what it's all about? I really should make more of an effort.

Shame :( was looking forward to it.

Why does everyone forget about localisation? Things are likeliest to get delayed here because they need to pass minimum EFIGS* certification. That's 5x the writing, testing, art, coding and bug fixes compared to single language regions such as USA or Japan.

*English, French, Italian, German, Spanish.

And don't forget all the other platform holders and developers that have weeks of delays for similar reasons for their tentpole releases

Driveclub, forza horizon, lbp3, sunset overdrive, call of duty, ass creed, evolve, alien isolation...

All suffering similar delays of several weeks to their release in Europe compared to other territories...

That proves nothing.

It proves that only Nintendo have this problem...

If everyone else can release without weeks of delay for Europe and Nintendo can't then that shows there is a problem with Nintendo in the way they handle Europe/localisation

It's as if they couldn't give a shit about Europe... But that can't be true as there is no history of Nintendo giving Europe the shitty end of the stick is there?

I think you've missed the other dozen + titles that have slipped into 2015.

I dunno maybe they have a fiscal plan or something equally trivial to worry about. It's just a game and, yes, it's crappy that it has slipped but claiming this proves Nintendo hates Europe is pretty weak.

Edit: I have no clue as to why it's been delayed, I'm just offering possibilities. For all I know Iwata could have delayed it because "fuck Europe, pack of bastards!" ;)

Name one slippage that applies only to Europe

Only Nintendo treat Europe as an afterthought their entire history is littered with examples of late Europe releases

Actually, in recent years, it's the US that have had the worst of the late releases. With the Wii especially. Many EU Wii titles didn't come out in the US for years, or even at all.

Yeah, we've really had it pretty good from Nintendo for ages, shit as it is for one of the few interesting looking games due out this year to be pushed into next I'd hardly say this is a return to the bad old days quite yet.

Well that's embarrassing. A highly rated game that I bought 8 months ago and I've not even managed that much. Part of it's down to the fact I'd have to swap a disc as much as anything really, modern gaming laziness in motion. Toad level(s?) here I come!
