Nice little earner I expect.

Sold for less than the market price; about £20 million less I believe. Any monies from the sale (R.I.P :() are going to the banks to pay of debt. I'm pretty confident that a year or two into the OS tenure they two chairmen will be selling up to the first foreign billionaire that shows them the merest flash of a stack of £50 notes.

People say we've got an unbelievable deal with the OS but what they don't realise is we've abandoned our home of over 100 years to go to somewhere where we've not got any say in the stadium, which was never designed for being a permanent football stadium, and is shared with several other sports.

Next on the agenda is a crest change with the words 'London' added to it among other things (hey, it's all about saleability with Gold, Sullivan and Brady!). I wish the porn barons had never bought us.

So, should Harry Redknapp name the Tottenham players who he said avoided England duty? Or should he keep his big trap shut?

Looking at the possible candidates, it surely has to be Lennon, he does give off an impression he doesn't give a fuck about playing for Spurs most of the time, never mind England.

Oh yeah, I never said it'd be a nice little earner for the club :(

I hate the football business.

Well now that he's opened his trap he should, but I suspect he won't. It's all done to rile-up the FA for not picking him.

Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch, Aaron Lennon, Darren Bent, Scott Parker, David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas, Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone, Jonathan Woodgate, Ledley King* and Kyle Walker.

Bold for the ones you'd think would be on the list.

*I'd say King is almost a certainty, but with obvious mitigating circumstances. That won't make a difference through the Redknapp Filter though.

I don't think Jenas would have been one, he stopped getting picked pretty quickly by Capello. Woody I don't expect was in contention during Redknapp's tenure at all either, he spent almost 2 full seasons of it injured for one thing!

Someone over on Spurscommunity came up with the possibility of one being Crouch, and the game in question being the friendly v Denmark in Copenhagen in 2011. The reasoning being that it was near the due date of his daughter, which is fair enough really isn't it?

That was the reason Redknapp gave as well so makes sense. It'd be bizarre to mention it seeing as Crouch featured plenty for England over that period and seemed more than happy to do so most of the time, but then that's Harry Redknapp!

Certainly fits with Bentley's reputation and he did it to the u21s once but I doubt he was actually getting picked by that point. Also sceptical King being one, he did withdraw from a game he was called up to but the decision was made by the England physios as I recall.

i like how his picture makes him look as mad as the quote.

try to imagine the phone conversation. "Hello, is that the mother of <soldier>? This is Raheem Sterling. i want to miss the friendly against Denmark because i'm having some more fictional children on Twitter." "...What?"

I feel sorry for David Bentley. He had all the hype on his shoulders about being the next Beckham, lost form due to injuries and was shunted off to Blackburn. He's had to retire due to a serious injury. And I don't think the blame should be heaped on the players totally - think back how many times we have heard that clubs have requested a player be left out or only play a half for their country.

I am sure you are describing an actual person but it definitely is not David Bentley as almost none of that is even remotely accurate.

Much better.

You know what Bentley was actually a bloody good player. He just had the unfortunate combo of being injury prone and a prick.

He wasn't even bad that Spurs, in the season where Spurs qualified for the Champions League, he had a good run in the team when Lennon was injured and played pretty well.

I saw Bentley score an absolute belter of a goal against Reading for Blackburn and he really did look like he would go on to great things, sadly this was never to be.
