If You Became A Billionare Tomorow..

Start up the Biggest arcade ever, with whole sections devoted to Sega, Namco and Co. Have a whole section devoted to 2D shooters for 10p ago. I'd also import the latest games from Japan.

I'd also have a Console section with 4 XBoxes, 4 GCs and a couple of PS2s all system linked together (behind bullet proof and smash proof stuff of course)

It'd be an abject failure, but it'd be fun doing it

I'd sit down, relax, stop working toward a shit job and a pointless degree, and make my bloody football game the way I believe it should be done.

Then I will release it for free while I hire the best people in the business to recreate the game in 3D, get all the required licenses to give it that further spark of realism, and make it massively multiplayer online.

One player to a team. Think of the possibilities....

Speaking of one player per team, I loved Libero Grande despite all it's flaws - the training mode was ace, the control method was deep (if flawed) and you could produce some amazing looking goals (mmm...Ridge Racery), and that's from someone who doesn't even like football

And until Campbell decided to write for it...

I think therein lies the major flaw, Campbell...

<_<

Except: Campbell is one of the finest writers who has ever worked in videogames journalism, not to mention one of the most knowledgeable. Even if you feel he is an egocentric bully (which I don't) you must agree with me on that.

I'd buy Nintendo and make the following changes:

Tell Shigeru Miamoto to step down gracefully

Make them make the next console dvd based

Make Retro Studios and Treasure internal developers (muhahaha)

Use internal developers Alphadream more (Mario & Luigi)

Hire Square and Konami to make some good games

With all the little disagreements myself and Guru have had about things, I'm amazed to find that her takeover of Nintendo would have the exact same gameplan as mine.

Particularly the sacking of Miyamoto.

I'd like to also make sure that Nintendo avoid producing games featuring its most prominent icons (Link, Mario, etc.) for a little while, to allow new characters to establish themselves.

Actually, I don't think he's really a bully, I mean, as much as he'd like to think he is, he doesn't actually seem to suceed in suppressing people by shouting at them...

My problem with him is his writing, its fucking atrocious, if thats the best that videogame journalism has to offer, I'm even more worried...

Seriously, the guy can't write, he's worse than Edge (with all it's careless mistakes).

What we need is people who know how to write, now, I don't know where we'd find these people, but, even if they're say, book reviewers, I don't care, w eneed some good journalism...

BTW, I've thought up another idea for if I were rich, a games company who's games are political and/or educational. One game I have in mind, would be, Harvest Moon, set in a south american company, whilst supporting a starving family, and constantly being offered less and less for your crops, it would be shit hard, no-one would be able to finish the game without losing some relatives, and I'd also add the option of having to grow cannabis and other drugs instead... such a thing would be more risky tho... the game would also be educational in the respect that it would teach people about wildlife, and how to control pests and so on and so forth, not completely realistic, it would be fun, just like harvest moon, then.

I'm a good writer. I just have nowhere to flaunt my wares.

I use words like 'juxtaposition', 'totalitarian' and 'bum' to name but a few.

i'd make a computer games centre; with a museum, shop and arcade. All the arcade machines would cost 20p a go no matter how new or old. The museum would be like game on, but better. The shop would sell bits and pieces for every console EVAR, and import stuff, the shop would also have reasonably priced game's rental (unlike Blockbuster). I would probably throw in an Internet cafe, and LAN gaming room and a function room for seminars, meets and film screnings. It would be like a geek Butlins. Oh, and a bar.
