Warner Bros. has just revealed the cast of David Ayers Suicide Squad, and it is a huge ensemble. Jared Leto is the Joker, Will Smith is Deadshot, Tom Hardy is Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie is Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney is Boomerang and Cara Delevinge is Enchantress. The film is scheduled for release August 5, 2016. Read more about the Suicide Squad cast below.

Variety posted the news. Heres what WB President Greg Silverman said about the cast:

The Warner Bros. roots are deep on this one. We look forward to seeing this terrific ensemble, under David Ayers amazing guidance, give new meaning to what it means to be a villain and what it means to be a hero.

While the confirmation of this news is incredibly huge, its all stuff wed heard rumors about over the past few weeks. The fact that Courtney is playing Boomerang and Delevinge (who was previously thought to be up for Harley Quinn) is Enchantress, are the two newest bits.

Be interested to know what people are getting paid for this- can't imagine they're getting actors on the cheap like Marvel did at first. Still, it's a pretty good idea, at least trying to do something a bit more interesting that the average superhero film.

You may have seen him and forgotten him as McClane's son in A Good Day to Die Hard. He was also Varro in Spartacus.

Fortunately I've not got around to seeing that installment of the Die Hard series. Just checked on Wiki and haven't seen anything he's been in. He has a very smug (and punchable) face in the photos used on the Wikipedia article.

Well she's worth $2.9 billion dollars, she hadn't acted for 15 years until The Butler and it took twelve months to convince her to take that role because she was terrified of embarrassing herself. Even then she only did it because of the director's persistence and the political relevance of the part.

She's too rich and too savvy to let herself get stunt-cast in a C-list super-hero movie. At the very least Oprah the brand is too important for her to do it.
