Taylor back in as pre tournament favourite, would like to see him do it myself. Bunting has a chance to become only the 2nd player to hold Lakeside champion and PDC at the same time in his first crack at the PDC Worlds. MVG has been off form a bit, as has Lewis, but Wade's had a great year after his Premier League issues so I fancy him to do some damage.

Looking forward to 3 weeks of excitement, there's always some upsets, Michael Smith will be one to watch again, even if to wonder how a man so young can develop such a fat neck. Any one else be watching at all?

Sure will and I would also like Taylor to win a couple more World titles and I think he could do it this year, hope Ando also has a good tournamet.

I want Taylor this year aswell, I dont want him going out in a whimper again, I still think he's the best around. I'd not argue with a Wade win too.

I think wright will pull it off, anderson is a whingey bugger and wilts under pressure. He was a pain in the arse against the qualifier with the "ghost dart". I'd take bunting over barney, I never bet on barney he's too much of a flake, once he starts shaking his head i cant be bothered with him.

thought that was a great final, was sure Anderson was going to buckle especially when he went 2-0 down in that set where his darts all fell on the floor (losing him a 180).

not sure of the overall averages for the final but thought the quality was high, didn't it have the most 180s of any final ever ? Not sure about double %s or ton plus scores.

the 180s are going out of fashion too with so many players now playing for 18s & 19s

weird at the end ceremony with Phil Taylor trying to pat him on the head constantly and Anderson having the body language of a naughty school child - you can see how Taylor mentally dominates so many of them

My exact thoughts on the subject too, those head pats were a bit over the top. Gary had so much bad luck during that match, that 180 that fell out due to the duff board, it was crazy. I was in 2 minds over the result but by the end im pleased for him. One more on phils record doesnt make a lot of difference, but Gary can now spend a year as world champ, and forever be known as one. Beating MVG and phil on the way to it, I think he deserves it too.

Taylor always does that so as not to lose the limelight. He muscled in on Lewis's first title interview as well, I think. He has an obsession with being relevant in the sport, Why he thinks he needs to is beyond me. He is the greatest player ever, period. When he stroked Ando's chin at the end of the second (third?) set I thought he may get chinned himself.

was a brilliant match, highest ever average for MvG of a losing player in the worlds.

Barney showed that superb matchplay grit again, his average was much lower as against the darts he was often miles behind, he seemed to put his efforts into big surge legs with huge take outs, MvG never gave up and I was convinced he was going to win and comeback, but somehow Barney just held him off.

love how MvG is so fast the cameras often lose him on the board.
