And not even that really, because I'm fairly certain you wouldn't be allowed to run gigantic sensor structures and flo-vis paint during races.

Years ago it wasn't even that strict, which is how the Prost incident actually happened, they were running possibly 10% underweight.

So Bob (not our Bob  ) is full of shit. (maybe)

And more interesting titbits. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/117622

IMO it sounds like they are trying to do it right and not just collect the 9th place cash.

The statement added that work was in progress to both modify the 2014 Marussia and to prepare a'15 car "to ensure it can supersede the 2014 car as soon as possible".

It said Marussia had "a significant number of staff" at work on both projects.

Wayne Pontin is so street, he couldn't be arsed to capitalise his initials when filling in the entry form.

What does that make CHRIS PEBERDY?

The only other one on that screen in my group, other than the one I'm obviously related to is Shamitha.

Fwiw, I did a highlights video because I'm still in love with my GoPro, here's Mr Hamilton's appearence - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dayzwiU_HJA#t=3m8

I can never work out how to go fast on slippery indoor stuff, should you just accept quite a lot more drifting or slow yourself down to avoid the drift?

I see Adam's closer than he has been recently, is that the heavyweight grip factor? :D

It's basically that he's decided he should have a huge budget because he's Ron. Apparently Jonnie Walker are paying numbers not unlike those Martini are paying for the Williams.

But Ron thinks he deserves a £300m budget in 2015 because that's what he had in 2003, despite the fact even Ferrari don't have that and he hasn't won the constructor's title in 17 years.

It's a gamble but the point is, title sponsors absolutely exist. Ron's idea of title sponsors from a time when budgets were twice what they are now and his team were at least twice what they are now do not. His point about Manchester United being down but are still Manchester United is laughable too. United are currently 3rd. McLaren haven't finished 3rd in a race in 2 years. Manchester United won the title 2 years ago, not 17. A better comparison at this point might be Leeds United and they're certainly not paying £30m for a defender again anytime soon.

McLaren finished 2nd and 3rd in Australia in 2014 but other than that I can agree on everything else you said. ;)

For some reason in my brain that was the start of 2013, not last year.

I wonder if we'll ever definitively know how much Lewis knew before leaving at the end of 2012.

I'd have thought there's no way he'd have been told anything even remotely resembling specifics, but may have - after signing an NDA on pain of death* - been told something as vague as "We've got something amazing no one else will have thought of, 2014's equivalent of the blown diffuser if you will. We're convinced it's going to be a two man race for the title".

*cos if another team knew there was some sort of amazing "loop hole" they'd put even more effort into finding it

I quite like it, tone it down a bit, remove the top front wing and it could be an exciting looking car. I'd welcome a return of the low, wide rear wing, forgot how much better they look.

Wish McLaren and RBR would release their concept images.

I'd be interested to see just how fundamentally different they're thinking.

Is it exotic materials and a new hyper drive unit ? or just a 2014 car with fucking great big wings on ?

Are they just addressing safety issues of driver head protection and avoiding tyre to tyre contact (by following the indy car route).
