Did anyone ever play Zeewolf (the game that was Zarch/Virus meets Desert Strike) back in the olden days?

I did and enjoyed it. I've been playing the sequel a bit on my A2000 (with accelerator) and it's still pretty good fun, and I can actually play it without smashing into the ground and exploding every 10 seconds unlike Zarch.

I'll have to dig out the Zeewolf demo. Amiga Power claimed it was an AP exclusive level on the AP44 cover.

Zeewolf 1 and 2 were both excellent games for the mid 90s, though a little slow on a standard A1200. I've always been intrigued by the Megadrive port that was in development. I wonder if the developers were able to get it running at a reasonable speed.

Amiga will never die. Being used here as an illustration of what a floppy disk is:

Couldn't believe it when I saw that this morning. Is that really the most obvious floppy pic they could find. Just shows how the Amiga is the only true great computer in history.

Does anyone know a reputable person for getting Amigas recapped? Specifically an A1200?
Going to have a look around some of the Amiga FB groups I'm a member of but thought I would ask here first just in case.

mutant caterpillar would be my go to suggestion

RetroPassion

Have had a few Amiga's done by him over the years and done a great job each time. Pretty good price too. With the price of the system these days I wouldn't risk it to some random bloke off Facebook unless you are prepared to lose it.

I wouldn't bother recapping the floppy drive, the Amiga ones don't seem to suffer from cap related issues in my experience and it will cost a lot less than £40 to buy another one if it's broken.

re Retro Passion - their communication once they have your money is terrible and it can take a very long time to get your stuff back. They did do a decent job of the recap on my A1200 however.

Boringly is it Elite on the Amiga which was 88

edit - this is quite the rabbit hole - Sentinel was in 1987 but obviously it wasn't moving that much and there was anAMiga version of Driller in 1987 as well (actually a double check indicates the ports of both of those was 1988

FA/18 interceptor was also 88

the slow nature of driller and other freescape games (on the c64) drove me mad, I couldn't understand why they couldn't just do wireframe like mercenary(c64) which was super fast by comparison (mainly because it didn't have much to draw :D ) and only do solid 3d when they were fast enough.

What was the first Amiga game with filled 3D vector graphics?

Just flicking through an issue of Ace from October 1987 which mentions that none existed by that point. Which made me wonder what the first one was.

Almost certainly it was Flight Simulator II, released in 1986.

Arcticfox seems to have filled polygons - at about 2fps - and I think that came out in 1986.

It's surprisingly hard to tell when games were released, if you're looking at anything that came out before around 1990.
