Timmo
Played the first four bosses. It's alright I suppose, but I'm immediately annoyed by the controls. Why can't it use a separate button for a downward attack? Pressing it on the d-pad is crampy. Bit disappointed so far although it's definitely better than Rogue Legacy. Lorfarius
Down on the D-Pad is perfect, its very remincescent of Ducktales this way.
Stanley
Yeah down works for me. A button for jump and one for attack is all you need.

scottcr
Is it wrong to say that I wish shovel knight and this didn't have retro pixel art graphics?
SMD
Is it wrong to say that I wish shovel knight and this didn't have retro pixel art graphics? I like it, nicer than stuff that looks like it was knocked out in flash in 10 minutes.
Keyboard Koala
Same here. Gimme this style over say Tembo's anytime.
scottcr
Same here. Gimme this style over say Tembo's anytime. Perhaps..: but imagine it was Rayman Legends or DKTF or NSMBU level of graphical artwork
Keyboard Koala
Yeah, alright then. But that's asking quite a bit.
Revival
Perhaps..: but imagine it was Rayman Legends or DKTF or NSMBU level of graphical artwork Then I doubt the game would even get made. The team have gone enhanced NES style for a reason. http://yachtclubgames.com/2014/07/breaking-the-nes/
Wiper
Quite honestly, I prefer Shovel Knight's style to any of the aforementioned games, with the exception of the ridiculously beautiful Rayman. It's a lovely looking game to me!

shirubagan
This is much trickier than Shovel Knight, I am dying a lot more frequently. Bit bloody good though.
Rsdio
I need to get back into it, I only played the first couple of stages but my brain was really struggling to adapt to the notion of essentially having two jump buttons.

Jamie John
Is it an entirely new game, or just the original but you play through as a different character?

shirubagan
Has SoT been released for 3DS yet? It's meant to be free DLC, right?
Lorfarius
Just now, Spainkiller said: No one playing Specter of Torment then? Y'all bitches. Just finished it, including all upgrades and powerups, etc. I haven't found all red skulls yet, but I have completed that secret challenge after I don't know how many tries. Might be one of the dopest challenges I've ever had the pleasure to play. What a great game; it's even better than the main game. And the ending hit me in the feels too, it ties itself into the original game as a prequel very nicely. Now to play the Challenge Mode! I want to but... mechamonkey
Couldn't find the topic for the original sorry but I bought the Treasure Trove collection on Switch today, this is absolutely fantastic, no idea why I let this pass me by for so long. Paulando
I'm up to the last stage on Specter of Torment on the Switch. Now I'm really wishing I bought the full Treasure Trove pack! I found this far better than the original, and the spacing of the controls made it much easier to play than the 3DS version. The 'swing' mechanic is truly brilliant, and coupled with the wall running it feels incredible to control. How does the other DLC compare?
MidWalian
The final playable character I think. Now get to work on Shovel Knight 64.
Varsity
Bought this with African currency on Xbox over the weekend, £12 for the treasure trove pack which is a steal. If you like your retro platformers, i'd strongly consider picking this up for that price.
Darwock
I think I paid about £7, and since then I've had triple my money's worth with the additional character levels. And there's still one more to come!? It's an incredible game but it's really bloody difficult. Some of the feats require no deaths, no hits, no upgrades etc - surely they jest...
