Castlevania (60£) PSX

That's really the PAL artbook + music CD version I think. Also, Panzer Dragoon Saga is worth more with the slipcase, almost certainly more than £60-70. I don't think mint Radiant Silvergun is worth as little as £100.

Sin & Punishment N64 £45+

Bangai-O N64 £70-100

Dracula X Saturn £40

Gunstar Heroes Master System £50+

pah, I could just copy from Edge Retros and post it...plus these prices are changing all the time, it seems the only thing to go buy is how much items have sold for, and that changes a hell of a lot.

I'm not sure of their current prices, but last year I got Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete for £35 ish second hand and Lunar: Eternal Blue for £50/60 ish new.

Both the US PSone version boxsets. I think they've both had cheaper versions released, also the Saturn versions don't seem to be worth as much.

I think the most helpful list (pic) I have seen in the past few months was that of rare PSone games pics, the reason for ths that some of t he games will be still be the second hand sections of many shops, i have seen some of them this weekend, Discworld and a couple of others.

Having list of rare games on the megadrive (list compiled by Jon Legg with the help of CCNUK memebrs) helped me start my Megadrive collection.

Looking at prices most seem to have decreased of the lat couple of months, The £ v $ is fantastic for buying US and Japanese games/hardware at the moment.

well thats sorta the point of the topic, so we can spot out rare games second hand and see if they are worth the asking price.

Also PDS normally goes for around 60-70 quid on cex and ebay with the slip case, prices have fallen a lot lately.

It amazes me that there are any valuable PAL rarities considering the technical inferiority to the NTSC counterparts. I could understand a title like WipeOut SE being rare/valuable because it was only ever released in PAL territories (but this very rarely happens). There doesn't seem to be any logic to it. In fact, there seems to be a large degree of ignorance, since the technically superior NTSC equivalents of highly priced PAL 'rarities' could often be picked up for less.

something is rare because its rare, not because its good. it might be good too, but equally it might not be.

Try taking a look at Die Hard Gamer for price listings the site has progressed well.

After reading that I sure do hope no one breaks into my house and robs me of my collection. I'll never be able to find the 8 quid it would take to buy it all back. :o

Still, it was nice to see they list EA's "The Haunting" as rare. Rare is an understatement. I don't think I've seen a copy since I played it as a 7 year old kid. I've given up looking for the thing.

Anyway, good thinking on this thread. There's a fair few rare games in my local Gamestation. Unfortunately, they are absolutely knackered, and priced up at more than they are worth mint (which I suspected anyway.)

edit: that said, crap things can be valuable just because they're rare. because some collectors are idiots.
