Here's my collection in no particular order, I didn't own a PS2 until much later and I never owned an XBox so there are a lot of multiplatform titles . Apologies for the number of photos.

And finally couple of memory cards. The first came with Animal Crossing (obviously) and had a free NES gift game on it for new owners.

post-243-0-33889400-1432247620_thumb.jpg

The second came with the Japanese release of Pokemon Box. I was trying to complete the National Pokedex at the time (and I still am) so thanks to a Play-Asia sale and favourable exchange rates I ordered a Japanese copy. The game was of course completely useless because it was only compatible with Japanese Pokemon GBA games but I just liked the two tone memory card.

There might be a few others scattered about, I can't find my copy of Double Dash or GB Player boot disk. I'll see if I can dig them up over the weekend.

I had a PAL Pokémon Box that was only available from the Stars catalogue. At the time it was about the only physical item in there, the rest was all wallpapers, etc. Flipped it onto eBay for modest instant profit. Wonder what it's worth now?

Good to see pink viewtiful joes about. I was team pink too! (gcn had pink or yellow covers).

I do not think its worth taking a pic of my collection, may snap just the imports when i get a moment and share some thoughts.

I was working at Toys R Us when VJ released and all of their display cases had a double sided cover whereas the actual games only had one colour or the other. I had to sell my double sided cover at the time due to lack of funds, I think I bought that copy from eBay

. I always intended to pick up Red Hot Rumble but I don't think it's worth the price it goes for now.

I bought my purple Gamecube at launch and it was the first Nintendo console I've ever had fail on me. Just after Metroid Prime's release the laser started to fail which meant the only games I could play on it were Animal Crossing or the Sonic Mega Collection because they both loaded completely into memory on startup. When I went to replace it Nintendo weren't making them anymore so I had to get a black console I instead:

@Alexloti I bought it from eBay for £20. I can't imagine it'll be worth that much soon, the GBA games that use it have been remade and you'd have to go through three generations to move the Pokemon to the latest 3DS games.

Yeah, took a look yesterday (long night with the norovirus) - asking prices seem to be 40-50 quid, but no idea if people are paying that. I think I flipped it for £25 a long time ago, so I'm happy with that.

As for it being cheap because it's effectively useless, not sure that means anything for hardcore collectors - they'll just want it because it's rare!

I have a bunch or so GC games but most are NTSC. Not sure if they worth as much (like resi collection, Zelda big box edition etc)

I think the disc was bundled with Pokemon Colloseum, but the boxed version was Stars only. Might be wrong, though.

Ah fair enough. The shop must have just been selling it seperate (i think i only paid a £1 when MVC closed in town).

Ah, yeah - Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. Another great little game I played (and completed) on the 'cube. Couple of difficulty/annoyance factor spikes notwithstanding (I hate tailgunner missions, and it had a boring one; and the timed Zombiebot King fight was a pain), it was a neat game with some nice mechanics and weapons.

Used to love slingshotting a grenade across the screen to be rewarded by a faint scream and shower of pixels. And slicing off bots' arms and legs with the buzzsaw gun never got too old.

@Cosmic Squirrel Pokemon Channel was by far the worst game I played on the system. It wasn't very long so I finished it to get Jirachi for my copy of Pokemon Ruby but apart from that the game has no redeeming features at all.

Four Swords without the big deluxe box is £50, Fire Emblem 80-150, Paper Mario £40, Star Fox Assault £50+, Pikmin 2 £30+ Luigi's Mansion £20+, Twilight Princess £40

Basically, even the most common first-party titles go for £10-20. High when you consider that Xbox releases can largely be picked up for pennies.

If you have ever decided to dabble in the GameCube it's probably best to get in now as the prices are really starting to climb. Also it's a great system with lots of unique games.

Where are those prices from? I need to start clearing out the roofspace and found these in my Big Plastic Box O' Games:

1080 Avalance

Ace Golf

Crazy Taxi

Donkey Konga (+Bongos)

Doshin the Giant

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

F-Zero GX

Ikaruga

Luigi's Mansion

Mario Kart: Double Dash

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes

Metroid Prime

Odama (+Mic, missing controller clip)

P.N.03

Pikmin

Pikmin 2

Resident Evil

Resident Evil 4

Super Mario Sunshine

Super Smash Bros. Melee

The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (+OOT/Master Quest Disc)

Viewtiful Joe

WarioWare, Inc.

Wave Race: Blue Storm

They're basically the average ebay prices. You can get some games cheaper from CEX etc. I've paid a little more for some and a little less for others, it comes down to what you're willing to pay. For example Metal Gear goes for around £40, but I personally wouldn't pay more than £30. I'd happily pay up to £50 for Skies as I know I'd get a lot out of it. Let me know if you want to get rid of Metal Gear if it's pal :)

I fitted a Zeno GC chip into mine, it cost £4 with just 6 simple soldier points, allowing Pal machine to play every region in glorious RGB, it does other stuff too if you're interested in that side of things.

How much would you charge to mod so ething like that?

I've no idea where my copy of Mario Kart has gone but I did find one game that I missed.

While I haven't played that much of it from what I have played it is definitely not worth what it's going for now.

It's not something I'd really do, I don't stock the chips or anything, ideally when Assembler comes back on line go on there and buy a Zeno GC chip for a few quid off one of the many sellers, it's quite unique in the way it solders onto the board making it ideal for someone with entry level skills, I remote wired mine so I could see what the status LEDs were doing though.

There are a couple guys in the UK you can send stuff to if you really don't want to give it a shot.

Import games

DSC_0600_zpsjgnqb4am.jpg

Reading left to right:

Naruto 3 - 4 - great anime beat em ups, 4 is really the best i played 2 and 3 and they where a bit of fun, but 4 really added more to it and made it competitive (we didn't use the god tier chars)

Star soldier - Part of a hudson remake series

Castle of shikigami 2 (mobile light force 2 outside Japan PS2) - good shmup, limited edition came with a small cat model

Ikaruga USA - USA actually got the best cover! But a reason to get USA over pal is there was a worldwide Ikaruga competition where you can enter your score online via a code. The pal version had a off frame skip 'optimisation' to keep it running at full speed in 50 HTZ :/

Metroid prime - for 480pness

Cyber Formula future GPX - casual racing game, jut got it as liked the anime.

Gundam vs Z gundam - brilliant capcom VS series that based on gundam and z and everything in between, so all UC 0079 -> end of zeta inlcuding all the minor series 0080, 0083 etc. continued on PSP/PS3. Came out in the US on PS2 with ign giving it a 3.4/10

Winning eleven 6 final evolution - the mini update of our pro, usually japan only, was considered better than the next version in some circles and looks great in 480p! Played for many years after release but was topped eventually.

Castle of shikigami 2 again - just a box.

Gundam Pilots Locust - 1st gundam game, got slated in reviews but i got it as its based of 0079... i liked it its controls real time but inputs only work in a SIm way, so you have to delay presses and play slower - think ahead. I got really far played it a lot... went back to it last year and forgot how to play and yes its soo bad once you are out of the mindset... perhaps it is worth the 2/10 lol

Dragon Drive - based of an anime flying ona dragon, okay.. only here as its made by Treasure.

Donkey Konga 3 - japan only unique track list including Dragonball Z Japanese opening + some NES chiptune music

Radirgy - also on DC, cell shaded shmup, it had some issues with freeloader so I didnt play it much, was in the wii milestone shooting collection too (usa/japan only)

Megaman anniversary collection - not the best collection, lots of the games have port issues, but its good enough. One issue for GCN is the A/B buttons are switched compared to the NES (its fine on PS2) so some prefer the PS2 version.

Animal Crossing - its never coming out here is it... oh it did...eventually :sealclap:

Radirgy was the first Japanese gamecube game I ever owned. It left quite a big impression on me for some reason. Wish I could get magaman collection again. I want X collection but it is worth a fortune. I took a gamble on a damaged copy on ebay but when I got the game it was so fucked up that it was basically completely broken beyond repair :(

Was having a bit of a sort out this afternoon and thought I'd get in on this GC love-in:

Here's my NTSC collection (with the odd PAL title)

016e73969ac5ceebef641eaf33f761a0661ccf41

01f90140df6cc7df2b3f920ce2b3f51a65ea8e3b

..and here's the NTSC-J stuff (still need to double up with the US versions of some of these):

God I LOVE the Gamecube

I adored the Gamecube. My kids grew up with the machine and have fond memories of my daughter and I playing Animal Crossing. Here's my collection, split between PAL & NTSC. Probably the system I have the most games for. Got the dance mat and the Bongos stored upstairs somewhere as well. Got a chipped GC to force Progressive etc with the Gameboy player attached to it. F-Zero is just mind blowing. How the hell was the GC capable of such visuals?
