There’s a race at Indy today but for some reason it doesn’t seem to be live on any of the Sky Sports channel. They are showing it at 9pm on Sky F1 but that’s it.

IndyCar at Nashville is a complete mess. Seven full course yellow, now a dead flag with four laps to go because Newgarden divebombed Grosjean and out him into the wall and I just want this race to end already so I can go to bed.

Shite to see Grosjean in the wall though, I think he had a decent chance of a podium and maybe even the win.

Wasn't nashville a shitfest last year too? 

I watched the practice and the commentator was talking about learning to live with the terrible state of the "track", I thought sebring was bad, but this looked like a ploughed field that had then been blown up. 

 

What is it with Americans and piss poor road surfaces. Its like some sort of challenge to see how shit they can make it?

IndyCar starts this weekend in St Petersburg. The NXT race is live from 2.30 and the main event is from 5pm on Sky Sports Action because it clashes with the Bahrain GP.

 How is SKY still absolute dogshit when it comes to keeping series locked in to the planner? Missed the first race because it didn't start recording it as it should. Yet stuff I have removed from the planner gets added again and again, including repeats 🤬

 Thankfully they have now actually started showing highlights. Why they can't repeat the full race though when half the time the F1 channel isn't broadcasting a bloody thing is a mystery.

To be fair, the first two thirds are a dull crash fest and the end is just stupid driving. The winner didn't really deserve it and the whole thing  just confirms every prejudice I have about indy car racing. 

 

It took 5 minutes after a 4 car pile up for the truck full of first responders to turn up and check everyone was OK.

To be fair, with 30 odd laps to go. I have no idea whose going to win here. It's very open.

For the last few years Long Beach has been a Monaco like procession and this was no different. All of the important moves happened through the pit stops and Newgarden falling down the order allowing Ericsson to get closer but not close enough to do anything to Grosjean. A great win for Kirkwood who was perfect in the race.

The Indy Road Course race is tonight from 8.30pm on Sky F1. No idea why it's today instead of Sunday.

Indy 500 time again! Fastest and closest front row ever. Could be a really good race, fingers crossed it’s a safe one. Now the nauseatingly saccharine pre-race show is out the way it’s business time.

I'm always surprised they don't have more pit lane accidents in American racing. The pit lanes always look like chaos to me

It’s a wide pitlane so I think it always looks more dangerous than it is. I’d missed Legge doing something similar early in the race but it’s always scary when they spin up the tyres leaving the pit box.
