Just to echo that - the dialogue is ATROCIOUS. It sounds like it has been written by someone with little to no writing experience and whose main language is not English. For such a huge, expensive, and obviously technically and artistically accomplished title to have such dire writing.... only in videogames. When will these idiot producers start hiring proper writing talent?

Arguably they did, hiring the lead writer of Fallout: New Vegas.

Could be that the trailer's just a poor representation of the narrative, but I'm not expecting much. It certainly feels like I could plot out the main beats already, and so far it doesn't seem like the characters themselves will drive much interest.

Also, her name's Aloy (Alloy: a Mixture of two elements, one of which is a metal.). It's going to turn out that she's part robot or something.

Actually, it's much simpeler than that: aloy is Greek for aluminium. But yeah, the trailer does seem hellbent on a 'human robot' twist.

I love how during the press conference itself one of the EZA guys went "This is a videogame?! We're at a point where this is a videogame!" followed by "Golly gee!" :D

It does look very impressive, especially considering it's (apparently) running on a vanilla PS4.

The setting is great, but what I like most - and it's something many open world games lack - are the distinct enemies and the many different ways you can deal with them. It looks as fun mechanically as it is gorgeous.

This looks like a genuinely fun game but is horribly let down by the hopelessly generic and forgettable name.

So true. It's just three random gamey words put together that seemingly have nothing to do with anything. It's especially confusing at the moment with Forza Horizon 3 being another big upcoming release.

It look like the kind of sci-fi you'd get on Sky 1 circa 1998, only with much better CGI. I'm sure the story will be a load of old electrodinosaur bobbins, but the game looks solid and the world is utterly stunning. Fingers crossed for feb.
