Hah, I used to use them for everything, but since I moved 2 years ago, for some reason I can't change my delivery address.

Shopto are kerazy.

For me too. Pay them with PayPal and have the right address on there. It forces the delivery address change on their system!

So pre order challenge now.  Really want this for the weekend as I am working away next week.

simplygames have nearly always come up trumps.  Do we reckon they might ship tomorrow for sat delivery?

or will shop to deliver early?

seen a couple on eBay but want £50!!

What are others doing and any chance of.  Saturday delivery?

PRE-ORDER TALK INTERLUDE

I always find myself swinging between ShopTo and Simply for disc preorders based on how early or on time they got the last order to me. And invariably, whichever one I choose, people who ordered from the other supplier are the first to post in the relevant thread that they've got the game - usually a couple of days or so before release - and I get mine later. I've even ended up having ShopTo deliver after release date on one occasion, and on another, not send it out at all before I cancelled and requested a refund on release day itself. Horror!

So I think it's fair to say that whatever seller I use, you should always pick the other one to maximise your chances of receiving an early copy. Based on my extensive knowledge of pre-ordering things badly, in the spirit of helpfulness I thought I should publish this impatient buyer's guide to forthcoming titles:

Title My vendor Recommended vendor
----- --------- ------------------
Horizon Zero Dawn ShopTo Simply
Mass Effect Andromeda Simply ShopTo
Persona 5 Simply ShopTo

A mod might want to sticky this.

END PRE-ORDER TALK INTERLUDE

I've stopped using Shopto as so much stuff - not just from Shopto mind - goes missing in the post. Their policy of waiting 15 working days (as per Royal Mail instructions) makes this a pain.

Amazon Logistics are even worse at delivery than Royal Mail (my housemate rescued my parcel from the bushes outside our house yesterday) but at least they send out replacements really quickly.

I'll probably buy my copy from Tesco.

Have gone with ShopTo. They got Yakuza, Nioh, Gravity Rush and Last Guardian to me on the day before release.

Every website (except perhaps Amazon) will do that though. The real discussion is which websites get them to you even earlier than that. Unfortunately, for a Wednesday release it's unlikely to be any. For a Tuesday release, simplygames will often post the game on the previous Friday.

Sod it, preordered with ShopTo.

Expensive month but this and Mass Effect should really show what the PS4 Pro can do and both look like GOTY contenders.

Also, I haven't used ShopTo since 2014 and their website is an absolute nightmare to navigate and use. I disabled adblock to get my cashback to track and the second you open the website you get a full page ad for Halo Wars 2. And it only gets worse from there.

I've got a load of CEX credit so I'm hoping they get a few copies in early like they did with The Witcher 3. What came through the post was a new game with the wrapping removed, so either it fell off the back of a lorry or they order some copies of big new releases to have them to sell on release day.

Failing that I'll just buy it in a shop like a normal person.

Everywhere was sold out of Pro's when I looked, so I built one out of an old neo-geo, some bin bags and xbox tears.

I ordered one from Tesco Direct to be delivered (by Yodel lolz) to my local 24 hour Tesco megastore.

I have one already. I just couldn't resist a jibe at the console whose open world exclusive champ is still Sunset Overdrive :) Childish, I know.

Anyway, here's DF's in depth technical breakdown. I'm linking the article rather than the video, as it has been pointed out that spoils a lot of the early game.

Gamesindustry.biz on the importance of Horizon.

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2017-02-24-horizons-success-is-sonys-next-step-on-the-long-trek-to-100-million

Quote

Looking at the release schedule for this quarter, you can see how that's playing out, with the PS4 receiving first- and third-party exclusives ranging from a big, commercial hitter like Horizon to hardcore darling Nioh and eagerly anticipated RPGs Persona 5 (honestly brilliant - probably my favourite game of the generation so far) and NieR Automata. None of those are about Sony thumbing its nose at Microsoft; they're all about the company pulling out the stops to find the next wave of PS4 owners and consumers (as well, of course, as keeping its existing installed base happy and satisfied).

So yes, Horizon: Zero Dawn being a success is a big deal. It'll be an even bigger deal if, as many people expect, the game ends up being a major commercial hit and turning into a big franchise - not because it fortifies Sony's position in the console war, but because it gives the PS4 another string to its bow in the battle for the next 50 million.

I think it'll do really well. Not UC4 numbers, but close.
