Yeah, I'm going to shelve this for now I think. Performance is alright, but now I can't unsee (see?) those missing effects. What a shambles!

I do still have that PS4 version sitting around. Maybe I'll wait and see what this patch brings before selling that on.

I'm actually tempted to do the same. I was in the middle of a second run through of Arkham City, so may well have a bit of fun doing that one again...

It shouldn't affect my enjoyment of the game, but it kind of irks :( .

One would like to hope that Rocksteady might actually get on the case themselves and sort stuff out now...

CDKeys likely won't refund though (although GMG have hinted they might if the issues aren't patched)

Yeah, that's the downside of buying from places like that. V. cheap but with no safeguards. At least until Steam supports some kind of key revocation system to allow refunds from third party sellers.

Well, it's testament to the quality of the game that I'm willing to ignore a lot of the stuff that's being mentioned (and I'm not suffering quite as much as most it seems), but reading this article from Eurogamer, I'm actually unsure whether all of this will ever get sorted out...

Suddenly the "it looks very similar to city" starts to make sense. Does the rain really not work in all PCs?!

What do we think the chances are that fixes are incoming? Do we think there's a chance that they're just going to say, fuck it and leave the PC version as-is?

I mean Grey Goo and Company of Heroes 2 are still receiving updates. I say the chances of this being worked on still are pretty high...

To much of a PR disaster to just leave it - will screw over sales from all WB PC games in the future. They might not fix everything to perfection, but no way will they leave it as is. Will kill off their entire PC sales.

What the fuck happened to quotes btw - they're broken. DID WARNER BROS TAKE OVER THE FORUM?

Right, eff this game. I'm done.

Entered a building to see what it was, turns out it's one of Penguin's Weapon's Stashes. But I'm not supposed to be here yet, and I wasn't supposed to be able to enter the building. Autosaves when you enter the building, and now it won't let me leave. Won't let me enter the vault, and there are no enemies here. Can't leave the building, can't die. So that's this gamesave f**ked, and I'm more than halfway through the damn game.

The Eurogamer article just confirms everything, what an epic fail.

I am annoyed at the WB statements about addressing issues with people on mechanical hard drives. I'm sorry but the consoles have slower mechanical hard drives then PC's and they don't have any issues.

I'm also miffed that they say the settings should give "console like performance" which they don't. They also seem to suggest a PC is the same so expect the same. I'm sorry but Witcher 3 I play on higher settings than a console and at twice the frame rate.

I may have been able to live with a 30fps cap if at least we had all the effects consoles do. Even changing the .ini file as Eurogamer did suggests that nVidia things like HBAO+ should have been in the game but don't work so have been hard coded to off.

I hope it's fixed soon. They cannot leave it like this, it's a PR fuck up. At least now Rocksteady themselves may be able to divert resources to this as well.

If you would like to load an even earlier save or checkpoint, back out to the first menu when you start the game and before you select your save slot, highlight your save slot, and press either the Minus Key (-) on your keyboard if playing on PC, the shoulder buttons on Xbox One, or the L1/R1 buttons on PS4, and hold the button for ten seconds. Once the option changes to view backup saves, select your save. This will allow you to load one of your recent saves instead of your current save

Going on just how utterly broken this is and how poor the WB response has been (playing in 720p unless you've got an i7 is somehow acceptable, 3GB AMD cards only handle low textures), I've lost all hope in this being fixed to the standard it should be.

There will have to be some fixes. Aside from the steam reviews and potential refunds, GMG (which is also big in the US) promised refunds if there is no patch in a week. If there is no patch, GMG will blame the financial brunt on WB and will likely no longer stock or sell their games. Not to mention the overall lost sales due to reputation.

There is no way they can leave it as it is. It may take a while. But it will happen. The consequences for not are bigger than just putting in the time and resources to get some fixes underway. It's clear it was a rushed port, not that the fixes are not possible. All the crap WB is saying is (terrible) short term damage control.

I don't think Angryjoe, Total Biscuit, Jim Sterling have picked up on this yet?

Don't know if it's just my copy messed up somehow but no fps software like fraps, afterburner or even the Steam counter work with this now. Do they work for anyone else?

FRAPS is working for me at least. I've never tried the Steam one.

I don't doubt that there will be fixes but I don't think it will every be as good as it deserves to be.

Yeah, just looking at the Steam sales ranking, the two other AAA releases in the top 10 are Witcher 3 and GTA V, both of which have been out for a while, and Arkham Knight has already fallen from the number 1 slot to number 4, with the Premium Edition dropping out entirely. Currently Counter-Strike GO is outselling it, along with an early access title whose main selling point is riding dinosaurs. They can fix it, quickly, or they can wave goodbye to a lot of money.

Incidentally, have any nvidia users got adaptive vsync to actually work? I've got it enabled with the in game vsync off, but it's clearly still locked to multiples of the monitor refresh while frame rate counters are reporting unlocked values.

That comes across as being quite flippant, but tbh, a game where you can ride dinosaurs sounds great.

WB have taken it off the market!?

take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards. We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall.

Well apparently a fix is in the works but I'm not entirely convinced.

I changed the dx10 settings In the configuration to TRUE which seemed to help until I drove the batmobile of a ledge and the fps dropped to about 2fps until I quit.

Edit: ah just seen wb have removed from sale and want it fixed.

Great news - hopefully this means fixes will be extensive and prompt. I'm still absolutely dying to play this game, and seriously considering double-dipping on a PS4 version, even just to play the main game and then play the season pass stuff on the PC version once it's fixed.
