Nintendo’s share price took a battering today. Lack of blockbuster games in the pipeline, concerns over the stability of the online infrastructure following the dismal Mario Tennis demo and expectations that E3 will be a washout. Lets hope they have some awesome stuff at E3 to allay these fears.

Investors = tosspots with no idea what they're actually investing in : Confirmed. That dismal Mario Tennis demo must have been a different one to the amazing one I played...

Or, an alternate take:

Shares jumped at the Pokemon announcement, and then corrected. That correction lead to algorithms recognizing it as a downward trend and selling off.

I mean I know you spin stuff debaser - but 'lack of blockbuster games in the pipeline' - literally days before E3, and 'dismal Mario Tennis demo' after an actually pretty good reaction from most people is going some.... #bravo

Or panasonic pulled out of the quality of life product they’re (still) working on.

Hey, I’m not really spinning it. The ‘dismal’ demo may have been my own personal take on it, but plenty of people had issues trying to get a lag free game.

Nintendo have stated they will only be showing 2018 games in their E3 video, they have already announced what most people assume are their key software drivers for the year, which are all ready priced in so any short term momentum players would more likely feel now is a good time to get off the hype train. The price of shares is dictated by what the collective amount of people buying and selling them think the virtual pieces of paper are worth, much like cryptocurrency and often isn't a reflection of underlying current business fundamentals.

For a company as large as Nintendo to have a 10% drop over two days is pretty abnormal in the face of no obvious news catalyst, so as per usual, people start coming out with theories as to why it happened. Either viewpoint could be accurate as you don't know the reasons why the people selling have sold out.

A longer look at their share price performance actually shows a noticeable downtrend in their stock market valuation. It's down about 20% off the peak for the past 12 months at present, so clearly expectations have been cooling for a while.

So, my question is...  Is Fifa filled with overly complex bloat that is likely to be offputing to n00bs like myself?  Or is there a horrendous learning curve?

I'm thinking I'd like to load up, kick a ball, pass, shoot, sometimes score, not be too concerned about formations, or managers, or what boots they are wearing.

I'm going based on the PS4 version.

But there's a 2 button mode and it's very easy to just play friendlies at a given difficulty mode.  If you know how to pass...ever, you'll be able to win matches on the bottom one.

You *can* set a formation, but it's very not something you need to touch, you don't need to do any manager things (because friendlies) and boots is not even a thing Fifa knows about.

My Switch download speeds and streaming seems really slow at the moment. Videos stutter and PixelJunk Monsters 2 says 3 hours+ at the moment to download for a 2.4gb file. Was fine a week ago and PS4 is fine.

Same, I have 80mb downloads and my PS4 games/patches download in no time but Ikaruga took over four hours.

June - Tennis

July - Octopath/Toad

August - Dark Souls?

September - Smash?

October - BLANK

November - Pocket Mon?

December - BLANK

I'm going to guess Yoshi for October and Fire Emblem for December, plus a big Odyssey DLC expansion. Metroid and Starfox GP won't get a mention.

I'd really love a Mario Maker.

Not this year though? Which is the only stuff they’re showing at e3.

Fire Emblem and Yoshi were announced as 2018 games. You’d imagine they’d at least show something of Metroid Prime 4 during the direct?

For those that never bought captain toad on WiiU, let me just assure you that it was a fantastic game. Great stuff. Deserves a switch re release, although I do wish they would add on a lot more new levels so I would be tempted to buy it.
