Morphies Law will never compare well to Splatoon but there’s potential there.

 

When it works, it’s feels great. I’m spending a lot of the time in the air (thanks to the ‘butt rockets’) and when you’re rocketing around and taking out enemies below with the motion controls, it offers a sensation the other shooters on Switch don’t.

 

Unfortunately, it runs like crap online this evening and has a habit of throwing you in 3v4s. Do I care about 3v4s?

If it catches on for anything, it will be the grotesque deformed shapes you can end up as.

 

At the moment it feels like a beta and has about as much content as one but I’ll be going back for more.

I played it a bit last night, it seems pretty crappy to be honest, janky and not much fun, but I'll give it another chance tonight. I'm wondering if there's some sort of bots being thrown into the mix, I see you had a guy called Maario, I had a match with a Mario, Luigi and Lewigi all at the same time.

I don’t think they’re bots. If they were, that would make the 3v4s even more evil. If you check the Users You’ve Played With on your profile, that will tell you if they’re real. Mine tells me I played against around 100 unique users last night. I’m wondering how many of them will still be around today...

The limting factors of those games back then are no longer limiting factors so you can apply modern gameplay elements. Whats wrong with Higher Res 2D?

Its still retro styling, just without the blocks.

 

Thats pretty clear when you consider some of the switches best games are 2D. With or without retro stylings.

2D has merely matured to a standard of solid gameplay.

 

There’s nothing wrong with it, I just don’t get it.

 

What are the best games on Switch that are 2D?

Couldn't not bite at Prison Architect. That Nindies Direct was great for me personally to be honest. A lot of the games (PA, This War of Mine to name a couple) I have been interested in on console before but (same old, same old) would never be able to get the time to play - or in the case of War of Mine, physically be able to read the text on TV - but are right up my alley.

My experience with the xbox one controller on pc via bluetooth wasn't that great. There was noticable latency and sometimes it seemed to lose connection for a moment. Could've been the receiver though I suppose.

I totally intend to. Axiom Verge is on the way on physical, arriving today. Steamworld Heist I bought on WiiU and thoroughly enjoyed, but probably won't double-dip on. Golf Story I'm on the final round - just keep dropping bogeys on one too many holes each time I've attempted it so far. Bomb Chicken I also bought over the weekend on sale but have yet to play.

 

Enter the Gungeon any good?
