The next batch of Switch Online games have been announced (for the US, assume we will get the same), they release the 12th of this month:

SNES:
- Star Fox 2
- Kirby Super Star
- Super Punch-Out
- Breath of Fire 2

NES:
- Crystalis
- Journey to Silius

Can read more here

I'm still patiently waiting for Earthbound and Super Smash TV.

Picked up the switch and mario kart deal for the kids (and me ;)) for Christmas. Where's the best deal for the Nintendo online subscription at the moment as fancy having a go on some of the Snes stuff available?

Had a quick look and seems like CDkeys looks the cheapest for a year subscription at £14.99.

But also found this , you can try the service for free for seven days, but remember to cancel it prior to it expiring as it will automatically change to a 1-month membership otherwise.

Ah, excellent. Kirby Super Star has a couple of nice 2-player minigames that will be fun to play on the go.

I've already played through Super Punch Out on SNES Classic earlier this year but it's so chunky at satisfying to play that I'll likely do it again.

I see there’s a European family membership on cdkeys, will that work ok in the UK?

Not sure if the offer is still available but if you have Amazon Prime you can get a free year of online via Twitch.

I was going to mention that (as I use it myself) but checked the T&Cs for the offer and you had to claim the first three free months before 24th September 2019.

So, both Alien: Isolation and Star Ocean: First Departure R are out today. Might pick up Star Ocean, because I've never played the first game. Alien: Isolation will have to wait as my 400GB memory card is nearly full.

Kirby Super Star (aka Kirby’s Fun Pak) is one of my favourite games on the system. :D It’s pure fun to play with a younger relative and/or casual gamer in two-player mode.

Crystalis is showing its age, but could be an interesting diversion for fans of Studio Ghibli films.

Is Alien Isolation download only?  Can't seem to find it listed anywhere physically.

Yep. It's 17GB, so to get it all on a cart would require a 32GB one, which are still pretty expensive.

I'm oddly interested too despite never enjoying much of the two I've played before (II and IV).

Rogue is not only a download, it shows as a "Free Download" for the collection so it seems that even if you buy it you'd need to have the cart in the slot to boot it. If it worked like Resident Evil or MegaMan or basically every other collection that does this I wouldn't mind so much.

Any idea if the mobile game for Black Flag still works, as that was VERY handy for the main game if I recall, I still go back to the X1 version, as all I've got left to do is 2 or 3 of the Legendary ships and it's 100% complete, yes, like an idiot, I went off and cleared the map of junk :-p
